I was looking. So I had concerns.
Some were flood level in the area.
simple home insurance does not cover natural calamity, unfortunately.
make sure you know the history of natural disaster in the area where you are planning to buy a new/old home.
ask your insurance agent about the coverage and discuss your concern. in my area, hurricane is most frequent natural calamity. therefore it is already included in coverage.

Remember one thing, these insurance companies are not "givers", they are "takers" and this is what their business model is designed around like any other predatory business and unfortunately most , if not all, of the "middle man type businesses" are basically predatory.
Now if you are living in parts of FL then your insurance might cover hurricane related damage but I bet it will not cover water damage because of flood caused by any thing other than hurricane. I am sure many of us have never read the insurance contract with all of its details.
