Buying a home in Mississauga

guys this might be a bit off topic but i posted it in another thread but seems to have gotten buried…i was wondering what are the nice neighbourhoods in mississauga? an area that has middle to upper class pakistanis? my relatives are moving there and are looking for a house, they are looking for a home in the $350-450k range…any thoughts?

Mississauga

From the other tdot thread:

As a general rule of thumb, the more west you go in Mississauga the better the area becomes. For areas with pakistani people, you really cannot quantify any one area since theyre found in equal concentration in every part of mississauga. For the kind of houses you're looking for i'd recommend you look at Erin Mills (west-southwest), Meadowvale (north-west), the area around Mavis / Eglinton (dunno what its called).

Stay away from Cooksville (dundas / hurontario) as this place is very congested and polluted. Its a great place to live if you dont have a car though. Also stay away from anything immediately next to the lake like Clarkson, Port Credit, Dixie, Lakeview as these are the older communities and desi people find it a bit hard to settle here. The houses are old and require lots of maintenance. The only good area near the lake is Lorne Parke but anything decent there starts at a million. :)

For a definitive search though mls.ca is all you need.

Re: Buying a home in Mississauga

you can also try looking at south mississauga towards Steeles and Mavis.

Re: Buying a home in Mississauga

Jp thats south brampton :cb:

Re: Buying a home in Mississauga

^ya ok i was in a hurry :hoonh: was thinking something and writing something

anyways I meant to say north of mississauga is great price wise and close to all desi facilities. Great resturants, Malls, halal meat stores, desi stores. You can find 4 bedroom house in your price range. Also don’t go too close to square one…traffic is hurrendous.

Chee is right about hurontario and dundas…it is good for groceries shopping but I would never live there.

Re: Buying a home in Mississauga

Try Winston Churchilll.....its mostly a non-desi area...mostly italian...nice area.....very clean

There seems to be some nice, newer homes located in kind of a loop between the 407, 403 and 410...is this the area youg guys are talking about?

Re: Buying a home in Mississauga

oh WUTEVA, you're just jealous cuz the houses in brampton have character, not cookie-cutter houses like in duh-ga

Re: Buying a home in Mississauga

oh btw lyall, don't go to milton. it's not even toronto. and it's boring. and in winter, it looks like you're the only one in the town. and there is an actual sign that says "farm truck crossing".

Re: Buying a home in Mississauga

look for the house around mavis/eglinton area.. very clean area... also, winston churchill isnt bad either..

Re: Buying a home in Mississauga

barondale?

.....besides winning keno vs zipline, i still have to live thru to see that..

all areas mentioned are nice.. derry/winston to derry/lisgar/10th/9th line contains ur targetted audience..

Brampton = Garlic city.

Best area at Mississauga: Between Eglinton/10th line and Eglinton/Creditview.
