Buying a farmhouse and maintaining it.....

Dont give up yet Hareem! I think when they say 100 acres, they’re talking about a crop-growing farm - like wheat, corn etc. 15 acres wouldnt produce enough of those to make profit but apples dont need as much space. Nor do goats or chickens and a couple of cows…you could make and sell home-made butter. Maybe even have some sheep (not sure how much pasture they’d need but lamb meat is horribly expensive to buy, I bet you’d make some nice profit even with just a small flock.

Something else you may want to read about is raising Alpacas! They are adorable llama-like creatures whose hair gets shaved and sold each season. The hair is very expensive, it makes the softest, warmest blankets and clothes. My sister has been looking into Alpaca farming, she has 1 acre and so could have one or two of them…we visited an alpaca farm over the summer and they had about 5 acres and 17 alpacas. They struggle for sure but they were earning their living.

I wish you the best with it! Its a life that apparently many of us would love to live!
