Buying a farmhouse and maintaining it.....

Re: Buying a farmhouse and maintaining it.....

^it's not like i'm gonna buy it next week.....

At the moment it's just an idea. As everyone is saying that buying only 15 acres is not worth it, for buisness purposes it has to be atleast 100 acres land then you can make some profit otherwise it's no use.

We might just buy a little house with 1 acre land only for our own little use with small plots of growing vegetables, a small pen for 6 hens, a small stable for 2 goats and probably a cow and few apple trees here and there, still lots of money is needed and my husband'll have to carry on working in oil industry.

You don't need to be envious, we can't save up 5 million pounds for a profitable farmhouse with 100 acres land even in 10 years.

Hareem baji, farm house kai Manager kee post kai liyai Khaksaar ko yaad rakhiyai ga. I have very little demands like 10,000 pounds/month, fully furnished bunglow, chef, car (preferably Benz),driver,50% share in farm house ,air return tickets every 3 month etc
Aadaab

That is not a long time for the goal you have ahead of you. May Allah be your helper. Ameen.

Dont give up yet Hareem! I think when they say 100 acres, they’re talking about a crop-growing farm - like wheat, corn etc. 15 acres wouldnt produce enough of those to make profit but apples dont need as much space. Nor do goats or chickens and a couple of cows…you could make and sell home-made butter. Maybe even have some sheep (not sure how much pasture they’d need but lamb meat is horribly expensive to buy, I bet you’d make some nice profit even with just a small flock.

Something else you may want to read about is raising Alpacas! They are adorable llama-like creatures whose hair gets shaved and sold each season. The hair is very expensive, it makes the softest, warmest blankets and clothes. My sister has been looking into Alpaca farming, she has 1 acre and so could have one or two of them…we visited an alpaca farm over the summer and they had about 5 acres and 17 alpacas. They struggle for sure but they were earning their living.

I wish you the best with it! Its a life that apparently many of us would love to live!

Re: Buying a farmhouse and maintaining it.....

yes they are so cure looking.
There are two alpaca farms near my home. These farmers are breeders and hold open house every season and on our way we stop there just to take a look at them.
