Are there any recruiters here that could get me a job in Canada? I have graduated from Hamdard University in Pakistan. The degree is a combined program in Business Administration and Computer Sciences.

Sorry I forgot to add immigration info in my post. I hold a green card (US), but am interested in working in Canada. I am a Pakistani citizen.

yeah. Everywhere is not like Pakistan relatives, freinds hold sway with management. Only your merits count. Contact recruiters I dont imagine many well be head hunting here.

I don't think that you are aware of the fact that about 80 percent of the jobs are never advertised - you only get them from your referrals. Believe me it's a lot like Pakistan. It's just that Pakistan doesn't know how to handle PR stuff - that's why all the furor about how Pakistan is corrupt and all.

How come you have a business degree from Pakistan and a green card and want to be in Canada. Just curious as to how that happened.

Hi fayax. I do not understand your question. I have a business degree from Pakistan because I studied in Pakistan. A green card because the INS, USCIS whatever it's called, was apparently ok with it. Want to move to Canada because I have most of my family there.

Yes, just graduated.

Work experience: worked parttime while I was in CUNY or Wagner. I don't think that counts for much though on the resume. So I am pretty much fresh graduate with no experience.

rafya, try and search for head hunting firms in canada, that's the best way of weighting ur options before you go, plus there's a lady called pagaldewani, sh's from canada, try and ask her if she'd like to help or offer some advice.

Thanks for your advice MYwish. I have started to look around for headhunters in the Toronto area. I guess it would be relatively harder to find a job in Canada than it is in USA because of the country's smaller market and economy. Thanks again.

Securing a Job in Canada from outside is IMPOSSIBLE. And that is a rule written in stone. What you can do is come here with your green card and start applying.
I work for a bank here in the same line as you.

Thanks for your suggestions RyeGuy and nia_khan. I am due back in January 2006. But I thought might as well start doing some search before i get there. Why is it hard to find a job in Canada from outside? Do you mean to say that there would be a problem if I am called for an interview because I might not be able to go for it? Or, there is some legal reguation that prevents the hiring from abroad?

Ya nia_khan, I would probably have to search for a recruiter on the web now. I heard that recruiters charge you a large part of your salary and that was why I was avoiding them.
