Bush says he will send troops into Pakistan to find Bin Laden

I maybe be Pro-Israel but this is crossing all the red lines here.

No US forces should be allowed to come into Pakistani Territory

WASHINGTON -
President Bush said Wednesday he would order military action inside Pakistan if intelligence indicated that
Osama bin Laden or other top terror leaders were hiding there. “Absolutely,” Bush said in an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer.

With bin Laden still at large five years after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks and believed to be hiding somewhere along the mountainous border between
Afghanistan and Pakistan, Bush disputed any suggestion that Pakistan has not done enough to hunt down terrorist leaders.

Bush meets Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf at the White House on Friday and again next week.

“I view President Musharraf as somebody who would like to bring al-Qaida to justice,” Bush said. “There’s no question there is a kind of a hostile territory in the remote regions of Pakistan that makes it easier for somebody to hide.”

In a news conference last week, Bush said he could not send thousands of troops into Pakistan to search for bin Laden without an invitation from the government. “Pakistan’s a sovereign nation,” Bush said then.

In the television interview, Bush was asked whether he would give the order for American troops to kill or capture bin Laden or other terror leaders if good intelligence pointed to their whereabouts, even if it was inside Pakistan’s borders.

“We would take the action necessary to bring them to justice,” the president said.

On the standoff over
Iran’s suspected nuclear weapons ambitions, Bush said he takes Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad seriously when he says
Israel shouldn’t exist. Ahmadinejad has called the Nazis’ slaughter of 6 million Jews a myth and said Israel should be wiped off the map or moved to Germany or the United States.

“You can’t just hope for the best,” Bush said. “You’ve got to assume that the leader, when he says that he would like to destroy Israel, means what he says. If you take — if you say, well, gosh, maybe he doesn’t mean it, and you turn out to be wrong, you have not done your duty as a world leader. … Absolutely I take him seriously.”

Bush would not address Israeli estimates that it could take Iran only a few more months to get to the point where it could start building a nuclear bomb.

“I’m not going to discuss with you our intelligence on the subject,” the president said. “But time is of the essence.”

Earlier Wednesday, White House press secretary Tony Snow said Bush did not watch Ahmadinejad’s speech Tuesday evening at the U.N. General Assembly.

In those remarks, which took place only hours after Bush stood at the same podium in New York, the hard-line leader denounced U.S. policies in
Iraq and Lebanon and accused Washington of abusing its power in the Security Council to punish others while protecting its own interests and allies.

Ahmadinejad insisted that his nation’s nuclear activities are “transparent, peaceful and under the watchful eye” of inspectors from the
International Atomic Energy Agency, the U.N. nuclear watchdog.

Re: Bush says he will send troops into Pakistan to find Bin Laden

Why you are getting all bent out of shape about this news when you had no problems with your beloved Israelis crossing the borders of sovereign nation of Lebanon.

Re: Bush says he will send troops into Pakistan to find Bin Laden

ohhhhhhhh....

Re: Bush says he will send troops into Pakistan to find Bin Laden

means with pakistani troops/by pakistani troops to me

Re: Bush says he will send troops into Pakistan to find Bin Laden

As asked above, why on earth is this crossing lines?

The US (and her proxy states) do not recognize borders when their interests are at stake...

Re: Bush says he will send troops into Pakistan to find Bin Laden

Yah mercenary, you shud hav ur friends in Israel and US to come invade Pakistan, lets see what happens, you think the response will be any other than what happened in Iran, Lebanon, and Iraq, I mean come on, if you think destroying Lebanon becuz of a minority group of people is justified, destroying Pakistan for a group of powerless man is also justified.

Re: Bush says he will send troops into Pakistan to find Bin Laden

thats not what he said, he doesn't want Israel on the map, u know how Palestine is not on the map, i mean it is the Palestinians land, he never said anything about the jews. This is just pretext for us or israel to invade/bomb just b4 Bush leaves office.

Re: Bush says he will send troops into Pakistan to find Bin Laden

:frowning: horrible..

oh course nothing is crossing any line for America when it’s their profit at hand…disgusting

Osama Bin Laden is probably sitting in some cozy apartment up in D.C. making tapes for the governemt

Ya Allah humarey Pakistan ko rakhna kadam kadam abaad aur in jaleelon sey bachana :snooty:

Ameen :flower1:

Re: Bush says he will send troops into Pakistan to find Bin Laden

Funny you saying that, and then continuing to live in “zaleelon ka watan” Atleast, “namak ha ra mi” to mat karein.

Waise, I dont think US will send its troops to Pak. As it is, they are stretched too thin. I agree with one of the earlier poster that Bush probably meant Pak troops.

Re: Bush says he will send troops into Pakistan to find Bin Laden

Pakistan should remember one thing that American Troops never go back frm anywhere except Vietnam. They send their Troops/Ships on the of War and terrorism then they occupy that land/water forever.

To Bhai logo Phir se Gulam mat ban jana:D

Re: Bush says he will send troops into Pakistan to find Bin Laden

yah, the response will be different. hugely different. Pakistan mashalla has alot to play with!
the US is only enjoying power and an easy ride because countries like pakistan are allowing it to. israel security hinges on pakistan not actively participating in its destruction. pakis dont die, they multiply!

Re: Bush says he will send troops into Pakistan to find Bin Laden

Pakistani officials shud just say we will take care of any terrorists once Bush leaves office.

Re: Bush says he will send troops into Pakistan to find Bin Laden

Well thats Because Lebanon has no control over its own territory and has basically allowed a terrorist group to wage war on Israel.

I am pro-Israel always have been and always will be...

But I am Pakistani and I love Pakistan, that is something a person like you will never understand

Re: Bush says he will send troops into Pakistan to find Bin Laden

I doubt Israel or USA want to wage war on Pakistan as its not their intentions but just BS propoganda spread by hate preaching Mullahs whose only knowledge about Islam is when to pray and which direction to pray in

Re: Bush says he will send troops into Pakistan to find Bin Laden

I know, but u urself r saying they shudn't send troops to Pakistan, can u explain y u feel that way...shudn't we welcome them with open arms, and shower them with flowers.

Re: Bush says he will send troops into Pakistan to find Bin Laden

Because I am a Pakistani and I love Pakistan

Its always Pakistanis living outside Pakistan that are more patriotic towards Pakistan than Pakistanis living in Pakistan

Re: Bush says he will send troops into Pakistan to find Bin Laden

So y do you get upset when freedom fighters r fighting for their countries in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Lebanon, I'm sure you would do the same if something similar happened in Pakistan.

Re: Bush says he will send troops into Pakistan to find Bin Laden

trust me, if i had a choice i wud much rather live in Pakistan w/ my family :) it is only becoz of my parents that i am currently living here. As soon as i get done with med skool i'm going back & taking my parents with me :)

Re: Bush says he will send troops into Pakistan to find Bin Laden

In Iraq, the time to fight for one's freedom is at an end when 10 Million Iraqis voted in the elections.

Bascially what you have are sectarian gangs waging war and killing each other and americans and innocent iraqi civilians. I hardly call that fighting for one's freedom.

In Afghanistan, the Taliban were brutal occupiers akin to Nazis occupying France and it showed when they were easily forced out and it shows that they had to run to the mountains to re-group and fight and it also shows that they have to bribe Afghans to commit suicide bombings and not religious or taliban zeal.

As for Lebanon, if Lebanon had territoral control over its territory and not turn it over to terrorist organizations like Hezbollah from where it can start wars with Israel then Israel has no need to go into Lebanon. There was 6 years of peace at the border between Israel and Lebanon and it was only when the buffoon Hezbollah kidnapped 2 Israeli soldiers that Israel retaliated.

Re: Bush says he will send troops into Pakistan to find Bin Laden

Pakistan has no control over its North Western tribal area bordering Afghanistan. According to your own western media that is the reason Osama is living in region for last 5 years and Pakistani army can’t find him. Majority of Pakistani highly ranked officers are Taliban and Al-Qeada sympathizers and they have basically allowed a terrorist group to wage a war on western world.
