Bush moves 4,500 troops to Afghanistan; warns Pakistan over militants

Re: Bush moves 4,500 troops to Afghanistan; warns Pakistan over militants

And in one of the article mentioned above, the following fragment caught my eyes. How true it is.

"Although Kiyani has the right atmospherics to please the United States -- including a clean-shaven chin and a repertoire of "anti-jihad" buzzwords -- his friends say the new chief's commitment to "winning back the strategic loss suffered in Afghanistan" is total, and therefore that he would place emphasis not on counter-insurgency operations but on the fool's errand of identifying and winning over so-called "moderate Taliban," a process tailor-made to enable the militia to recoup and regroup to a strength sufficient to launch a country-wide assault against NATO in Afghanistan by mid-2009. "

u r wasting ur time..seriously many of these american pakis members of gupshup dont know single **** abt tribal culture...and unfortunately these people make our policy...

I listened to a media report / discussion on who they are on a local tv channel.

The reason of their retiliation is because they were ignored especially by the previous government. Despite all, they should have tried to talk to the government through somebody, not start killing other innocents of their own country.

Besides, I believe there are now steps taken by some responsible and authoritative figures in the Pak government to imrpove their situation and make them a part of Pak by giving them equal opportunities, just like other Pakistanis. Hopefully, these steps will bring out the best in our pakhtun brothers so that they can contribute to the development and welfare of Pakistan and become one of the strongest assets of Pakistan (InshaAllah) instead of turning into rebels and harm their own land.

But I thought they were CIA agents? lol

There was time when Pakistan had ONE man heading the government as well as military. A person who had complete hold and trust of Pakistan forces as all officers were his handpicked. He was in charge of promoting officers since last 10 years (decision maker in control of both military and executive branch, dealing with military promotions and placements), a period long enough that all officers from Brigadiers to Generals were his appointees. He knew his officers, their capability, abilities, and equipments available for them to fight. He himself had good reputation as soldier. Since Kargil war and Nov 1999 coup, he was known in west as a very intelligent, able, shrewd and thinking General as well as a person who is capable of making good action plans and implementing those plans professionally and successfully. Western newspapers after 1999 coup and analysis of his personality at various time in western press speaks a lot about him. West knew that if Musharraf really decided to go for confrontation, Army would stand behind him all heartedly. For Americans, they knew that they could only push Pakistan under Musharraf to a limit. They knew they were dealing with someone who can call spade a spade in front of the world audience. It was Musharraf who humiliated Americans by portraying them as bully boy when Musharraf told the world that USA threatened Pakistan with warning that they would bomb Pakistan to stone-age.

They knew that if he would say ‘No’ to something than there would be no point forcing him hard as if he would take stand than there would be no option other than complete confrontation (West tried, stop recognising Taliban government in Afghanistan before it fell, asking Pak to send forces to Iraq, handing over A Q Khan, disbanding ISI, abandoning Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline, Cooling relationship with Iran, Not involving China in Gawder port, not giving China land Access for trade, Not developing relation with Russia, Allowing direct invasion of FATA to American land forces, etc unsuccessfully, but it did not became news or pursued vigorously by west, as they knew the result). Americans knew the extend Musharraf would fulfil their demands without compromising Pakistani interest and they respected that avoiding confrontation. American is long term ally, biggest trading partner (major destination of Pakistani exports), biggest source of remittances, aids, grants and other dollar income, plus supplier of most of arms and ammunitions. As for Afghanistan, it was and is pariah state that is source of many Pakistani problems, like smuggling, crimes and drugs. Under Taliban, it became source of destabilisation in Pakistan and shelter for Pakistani criminals. American demands accepted were all reasonable. Americans gets supply of goods and services in Afghanistan going through Pakistan, control miscreants on Pakistani side using Pakistani forces, handover non-Pakistani wanted miscreants to USA, and get help of Americans to bomb miscreants in Pakistan if needed. All were fair demands. In return, instead of aid or grant (bheek that Pakistan use to get during Zia time), Pakistan became the first country in the world to charge Americans and other western powers for services and expenses. Even though both had mistrust for one-another still both gave needed respect to each other and kept tangoing.

Anyhow, since Americans wanted more, they decided change in Pakistani set-up. For this, paid thugs of America, their Pakistani assets were used. Some seems opposing each other but in reality they played game in such way that things do get changed without detection. Qazi, Imran, Nawaz, Zardari, Aitezaz, Iftikhar, others in Judiciary, Media Moguls, Dr Sazishi Masood and many other journalist agents, crooks and retired bribe-takers of civil society, American and Saudi (indirectly American) paid Mullahs and misguided so-called Alims, dancing lawyers, retired American backed and paid generals, etc, all did so much hangama that in the end, what West wanted happened. Now, we have a Weak Army Chief, American puppets in government, country full of American puppet Mullahs, and most politicians under Western control. To expect something from these thugs and crooks is just like asking thieves and dacoits to guard treasure. Anyhow, Pakistanis got fooled by propaganda and lies. Pakistanis took thugs and crooks as their leader again, something no true Muslim could have done … as electing same people after getting bitten twice by them cannot happen with Muslims but Munafiqs. Surprising is that Nawaz, Shabaz, BeNazir and Zardari, all went to USA and used American help to get to Pakistan. Aitezaz and Iftikhar were getting full support from Americans (not officially but from American media and society, who work to bring changes in foreign countries) and still many went behind them. Just imagine, Nawaz was saved by Americans from Pakistan dungeon, Imran loves American, British and European lasses (young girls) and do all sort of tangos with them, while Qazi belongs to JI, a party with known history of American connections, and so on; still a large section of Pakistanis supported PMLN so that he would fight Americans. Pakistanis are funny people as they got rid Straight forward, Truthful, Honest, Realistic and Strong Character, a Veteran, a Patriot, a War Hero and a Decorated Soldier … and replaced him with Villains, Absconders, Fugitives, Criminals, Convicts, Crooks, Thugs, Liars, Deceivers, Looters and Plunderers to rule them. So if American bombs and have started invading Pakistan with their ground forces at will, than one can say that this is what Pakistanis earned.

One should read the discussion on the topic in Jang-group (please read all pages to know what people think of the situation):
