Burqa Avenger

Anyone heard of this??

Re: Burqa Avenger

I would put this in Pakmusic, but the discussion I want is for the show, not the song. They’re making a new animated series in Pakistan that shows the heroine as a burqa clad lady who uses books and knowledge to fight, ninja-style, the Taliban. To be broadcasted on Geo.

Re: Burqa Avenger

I have to see before commenting.

Re: Burqa Avenger

I think its awesome. Best way to piss off the Taliban. A strong emancipated burqa woman who uses words and power and not bombs. Its bloody awesome and I will donate to such a project.

Re: Burqa Avenger

I like the idea, lets see if it manages to succeed in getting the right msg across.

Re: Burqa Avenger

Just got sent this by multiple people in the past couple days. The trailer and premise are good. Haven’t seen any episodes yet. But I like the concept.

Re: Burqa Avenger

At first I thought it’s cheesy, but honestly, it’s a really good idea with all the crap going on in Pakistan.

Re: Burqa Avenger

i hope burqa avenger saves people from drone attacks as well by destroying drones.

This is the second animated series by Geo where villian is bearded.Seems intentional to feed children hatred for this sunnat.

Thats what i think about this.

Re: Burqa Avenger

US funded ‘‘psychologicall’’ warfare… isn’t going to do shizz…just a waste of money…Little girls are more interested in sheila ki jawaani and models and the stuff like that…

Re: Burqa Avenger

Tsk.

Re: Burqa Avenger

May be she is not powerful enough … We should make our own super hero to do that job perhaps …

Re: Burqa Avenger

Why does a children’s show have to address EVERYTHING and ACCOMPLISH everything in order for it to avoid being dismissed. You guys haven’t even watched an episode and are dismissing it as propaganda. At least it’s doing SOMETHING in a positive and fun way. Give it a chance. It is far better to be creative than destructive.

Re: Burqa Avenger

So our biggest problem is not corruption etc but some bearded mullah who is supposedly destroying schools.

Anyway this is what i believed, why does beard has to be with villians, i think this is deliberate attempt.

Let see how this fitnah goes.

Re: Burqa Avenger

I prefer Phineas and Ferb… :snooty:

Re: Burqa Avenger

I see where you are coming from but I guess the idea is to combat one particular misconception at one time.

If this project goes really well with the public, who knows, the next one might to be combat the negative stereotypes of a bearded man.

I haven’t seen any episodes yet but maybe there is a positive bearded gentlemen in the picture somewhere.

Re: Burqa Avenger

^ Exactly. There this just opens doors for another generation of children’s shows that will be even better.

Re: Burqa Avenger

I certainly did not say that, and I doubt the show claims that.

Your post makes it seem like the greatest victims in the Muslim world are bearded men, and we have to worry about making things harder for them. That’s hardly my priority. Sure, we shouldn’t encourage negative stereotypes, but there’s a lot more that this show COULD do.

And yeah, I think people destroying schools for children are a pretty big plague on our society. Whose going to fight the corruption if so many of the members of our communities are left without knowledge of basic rights and everything else those schools could provide? I’m pretty sure I don’t need to defend the importance of education to you.

Re: Burqa Avenger

Supposedly?

Re: Burqa Avenger

Atleast i am sure.
