Re: Burning Fats
the cheapest is jump roping!:D:D
Re: Burning Fats
do some hardcore exercise...such as dumbells ...less weight , more repitition (to burn fat in ur arms, and to tone it , or do the other way around .... more weight , less reps...to get urself muscular mass on that area )...
And for thighs.... try jump roping ... walking, running, deadlifts, squats etc.
Re: Burning Fats
Doign low weights with high repes will tone the muscle and give it endurance, but will it burn the fat on it's own? No
You need to concentrate on reducing your daily calorie intake and exercise using a combinations of light weights and cardio. This will increase your metabolism leading to you burning more calories even when resting.
The fat will eventually go.
Another thing is you cant do spot fat reduction, i.e. fat reduction in a specific part of your body. Whenever you try to burn fat away it will be throughout your body
Re: Burning Fats
^True, its a myth that certain exercises make one loose fat over one particular part of body.
Re: Burning Fats
I agree with everything rizwan wrote. Also exercises like running are known to lengthen muscles because they actually burn off fat as well as muscle. Pilates and yoga also lengthen and tone the body.
Re: Burning Fats
I agree to your post, person has to change life style (eating that is) in order to gain permanent results but I don’t agree to the part in bold.. You in fact can target specific parts of the body by doing specific exercises (special aerobics) and using different equipments.
~Iraj~, consult with some good trainer about this. You dont need to spend 100s. Just get a one hour 1-on-1 lesson and then you can do it your own.
Re: Burning Fats
cardio (like running) + lightweights (more reps). run first and then do weights.
Re: Burning Fats
Running will not burn ur muscle mass, as long as u're feeding ur body a combination of high protein, carbs and fat... and u lift weight..... running will not effect ur muscle mass.

in fact, there are exercises out there that targets only specific muscles.. such as dumbells...now if u're trying to get rid of the fat from ur arms ... u lift dumbells...it will not effect your lower body in any way.
Re: Burning Fats
A lot of you over here don't know nothing about fat reduction/training.....
When I say that you can't do spot fat reduction I back it up 100%...
I can't be bothered to argue....I have over 10 years of experience in this field and all I will say is your body will try to lose fat throughout your body. You cannot force your body to lose fat only under your arms or only on your belly.
Yes different people will lose fat at different speeds at different parts of their body, but the end result is your body will burn fat everywhere but nmaybe as a % wise it may burn more fat in one place than another....

go for squats. enough said
Re: Burning Fats
thanx peepz .. the gal who wanted to reduce is skinny otherwise ... :)
Re: Burning Fats
I think cycling is best to reduce thighs and tummy aslo fats of arms.
Re: Burning Fats
jias i was thinking the same , but i assume cycling can broaden your hip bone - lol-
quite an info .. about the ca;lorie intake -- i think that would help the most
Re: Burning Fats
^ Um i dont’ think anyhting can “broaden” your bones.. ![]()
Re: Burning Fats
hmm sara .. :)
Re: Burning Fats
I agree, go biking on mountain trails and if not just around your neighborhood, and don’t do the excercise bikes, they don’t even feel what a normal bike feels like:D
Re: Burning Fats
Hehehe thnx ;)
Re: Burning Fats
running burns fat. and this is what she asked for. weight lifting tones the body and burns even more fat when combined with cardio. just running alone will burn fat and calories but not such a fast pace as if u combined it with a little weight lifting.
