burgers of karachi and their lifestyle

Re: burgers of karachi and their lifestyle

That's good, women who are treated like **** should stand up for themselves but some women make a mountain out of a mole hill, just feminists for the sake of it, they need some sense knocking into their heads.

Re: burgers of karachi and their lifestyle

Because they wish to observe hijab and abide by the Islamic teachings, which their husbands cannot tolerate.

Re: burgers of karachi and their lifestyle

Barrey hi bayghayrat hain, khud apni biwion ko duniya ke saamne showpiece ki tarhaan nanga karna chahtey hain.

Even gorays who probably don’t know what gheerah is would rather their own missus and own sisters didn’t dress skimply; friends say this, and it reminds me of the hadith (?) that gheerah is innate, these paki men have even gone against that.

Re: burgers of karachi and their lifestyle

The frustration is probably not because they cover themselves. I think it might have to do with a POSSIBLE trend that these girls dont want to focus on sex much anymore.

Or maybe you guys are right. Maybe these guys dont want wives who can't be socialites. Unfortunately, a lot of business works on this principle.

Re: burgers of karachi and their lifestyle

Nope… it’s anything, but that. This cannot remotely be the reason for frustration and marital discord.

Re: burgers of karachi and their lifestyle

Yes, I am waiting for the answer to this too. I would also like to know how Mushi endorses these ‘vices’ through education.

Re: burgers of karachi and their lifestyle

edit: here it is

The new Aga Khan board curriculum has caused an uproar. You guys live under a rock? Mind you these questionnaires are being carried out to children in the 4th to 7th grade. Abonimable.

“Should a girl have sex before marriage? If yes, at what age?”

“AIDS is transmitted through unsafe sex, prostitution and homosexuality. Do you ensure that you practise safe sex?”

“Have you ever had sex? If yes, at what age?”

“Should a boy and girl in love have sex before marriage?”

“Do you drink? If yes, how much?”

“Do you take drugs or other intoxicating things?”

Re: burgers of karachi and their lifestyle

skhan bro in logon ne toh aap ki class lena shuru ker di :smack:

guys, stop harrassing him!!!

Re: burgers of karachi and their lifestyle

It's not harrasment Irem. He implied this stuff is being encouraged by Musharraf and I, along with others, would like to know how. There is no harm in asking, is there?

Re: burgers of karachi and their lifestyle

Irem, this is good, I am educating the ignorant.

Let the justifications begin.

Re: burgers of karachi and their lifestyle

haan haan first post, then cluck like a proud hen.

Re: burgers of karachi and their lifestyle

Re: burgers of karachi and their lifestyle

It's funny how those who don't have the foggiest about what is actually happening in Pakistan, have the strongest views :)

I know friends and family who have actually had to withdraw their children (4th graders) from such schools which have started this.

Re: burgers of karachi and their lifestyle

The article says specifically :

"The survey was not a part of any school syllabus and was done as an initiative of the board. It was circulated mostly in private schools. "

Also, this happened in 2002, according to the article. We're in 2005. Where has this issue gone? Are these questions still being asked, or was it an experimentive move by private schools?

Nowhere does it say that Musharraf is endorsing this. These questions are not part of the curriculum that the government adopted, as these questions were only circulated in some private schools.

Musharraf didn't devise those questions, and I'm sure he didn't endorse them, as the article does not say so. Nor were the questions circulated in PUBLIC schools.

If anything, this article STRENGTHENS the assertion that elite behavior has deviated substantially from religious norms. But Musharraf's goals certainly are not forcefully or even subconsciously leading the population into such debauchery.

Re: burgers of karachi and their lifestyle

It’s a questionnaire and the article says this isn’t part of the syllabus.

Khair, educating the youth on sex education is a bad thing indeed. I totally agree. Nobody should tell these kids what could happen to them if they have sex (of course, at the orders of Musharraf). They should remain ignorant of STDs. :k:

As a side note, I’m positive Musharraf was behind the whole cyber sex-cafe incident a few years back.

:smack:

lemi help u out here skhan bro

PCG and Mehnaz, actually the whole thing is that Musharraf in general is for “liberalising” Pakistani society in all ways. like less purdah, more interaction/openness, u can see it on PTV for example. this is leading to a society which is basically more open to such influences.

thats basically the bottomline.

living in karachi i know myself what’s going on here, it never used to go on before. the stuff that’s happenning in Zamzama for example at night, that never used to happen before in the history of the city, everyone knows abt it too.

the kinda clubs that r open for the youth now.

things like that.

there r other such examples too..

hmmm

Re: burgers of karachi and their lifestyle

My question to you is, do you think this stuff would be happening if Musharraf wasn't in power? I'm pretty sure the kids there would be going buck wild regardless of who is in power.

Re: burgers of karachi and their lifestyle

Mehnaz hmmm no prolly not so openly i dont think

Re: burgers of karachi and their lifestyle

Irem Aunty, I swear, I've never met such a person like you of my age. You amaze me at times. How can you possibly look at the modernization and westernization going on in Karachi and claim that the government is behind.

Abhay, even now, the government is just trying to stabalize the damn economy. Regulating social behavior at the grass roots level tho bohat duur ki baat hai.

Have you seen any laws or propaganda passed that demand that women no longer wear burqas? Do you wear one yourself?

And as for late night activity, that has always been going on in KHI. You were just too young to understand what it was. Its just that now, what has always gone on behind closed doors, is not coming out.

Why? Because people are concernfully questioning what is going on socially in the country. People are recognizing there is a problem, and thus are trying to raise awareness to fix it. So you're going to see plenty much more coming out.

Have I told you about the wife swapping trends, and late night orgies? Yes, I read of a case where a professor had an orgy with his students.

Plenty of more interesting stories that are total schockers. And you have absolutely NO PROOF that Musharraf is deliberately leading the country into this trend.

Is he for MODERATION? Yes. Is he for MODERNIZATION? Yes, but in terms of like decreasing crime rate. You're in karachi. I'm sure you've noticed that times are more peaceful after he came in compared to the blood bath that khi was at one time when MQM gundays were running amock on the streets and shooting into random houses as they drove by.

He's not trying to build a society that is OPEN TO INFLUENCES. He's trying to build a soceity where your basic rights are protected. He's working on the economy and law and order. And he's left a lot of freedom in the hands of people.

Bottom line is - the trends you are seeing are not from the government - they are being generated from the people. The pakistani people are filth, not Musharraf.

But its hard to blame yourself, I know.
