hey guys … have been a lurker on this forum for a while and absolutely love it!! since u guys seem to know so much about pakistani clothes, i wanted to ask ul a question - which designer would you prefer for a wedding jora - bunto kazmi or umar sayeed??
i want my wedding jora (indian lehenga with choli style outfit) from either one of these designers since price is not the issue … im thinking of getting something in the range of 9-10 lakhs pkr (since im from india, that means its only 5 lakh indian rupees which is not tooo bad considering the top end designers here chanrge excess of 10-15 lakhs i.e. approx 25-30 lakhs pkr for a jora!!!)
my requirement is something unbelievably stunning and intricate … real zari embroidery and delicate heirloom worthy stuff…
i want very wide borders in my dupatta and lehenga and a fully worked choli… lehenga should also be filled with work…
what do u guys suggest? shld i do bunto or umar?? i understand these are the 2 very top end designers of pak but who is more worth it in terms of giving value for money??? i know bunto is amazing but i also loveeeeee the intricate work borders of sayeed…his work is soooo different and u can immediately identify one of his pieces…but is umar just a fad??? i know bunto is considered to be a piece u can pass down generations - can the same be said for an umar ?any idea if umar an outfit uses real zari like how bunto does???
would really appreciate it if you guys cld give me ur opinion!! pros and cons of getting a bunto and Umar? esp in terms of actual karigari and ofcourse the “impression/reputation” these two designers’ clothes have in pak!
(pls lets not start the argument of why someone wld spend that much money on clothes etc etc)
Ive seen Umar sayeed stuff up close and it is amazing - the work is just beautiful - however I personally prefer the look of bunto joras as they have a timeless elegance about them - something you will look back at in 15-20 years time and not cringe!
I wouldn't ask Bunto to make me an Indian choli-lehnga.
I would want something classically Bunto with a modern twist maybe. But not what you described. If that's what you want, you might want to consider an Indian designer. Umar Sayeed Might be better too.
I have not seen alot of either of the designer's work especially bunto but from what i have seen and understood of their work, i think i would prefer Umer Sayyed as its more contemporary which i would prefer. However, you should definately check out their collection and then decide.
Depends completely what kind of look you want.. Bunto is best at traditional dresses, umar sayeed will give a more contemporary and chic look. From what you seem to be looking for I would say Umer syeed. :)
if you want to wear red on barrat then umer sayyed for barrat and bunto for valima, i noticed bunto's kind of work look best on ivory/whites/plum but not red
