It's nice. Except I don't think sleeveless suits her, even then it would have been much better without those upper arm things.

I would have preferred full sleeves here and it's shame there isn't more colour in the outfit, especially with all the colourful gowns you see women wearing at this event.

i so didn't like sharmeen's outfit for the oscars. the sleeve strap things were distracting, and the outfit just wasn't as wow as i was thinking bunto would make it. why didn't she opt for a really elegant gharara? its the oscars! everyone is in gowns everywhere. i loved the colours though.

You are right...it's not drop-dead-gorgeous....it's just so regular! When I heard that Bunto would be doing her dress I was really expecting something "la-jawab" but in reality it's nothing special at all. And the sleeve-straps were not flattering on Sharmeen; she should have opted for a dress with sleeves because if you want to show your arms - they should be toned! Why don't Pakistani celebs think about their arms and shoulders?

I agree that her dress could've been so much better but I'm glad she didn't turn up in a fancy gharara looking like chamkeeli bride. Yes its the Oscars but it doesn't mean everyone has to dress up like a Christmas tree. She's not an A-list movie star, she was there as a foreign filmmaker with a documentary representing a devastatingly serious issue, so she was appropriately dressed and and her dress was in perfect solidarity with all the women she thanked and the issues she spoke about in her acceptance speach.
Having said that, I do think her dress on stage looked much better than it does in pictures. I'm sure it even looked better in person, I guess the red carpet philosphy of 'dressing for the camera' didn't cross Bunto's mind.

I completely agree. I liked the colour and the silhouette. If I were to make any change to the outfit, it would be to add full sleeves. They would have made the outfit more elegant and full-sleeve gowns are the new "in" thing on the red carpet as well.
