Now I have a limited grasp of economics but arent direct cash injections a form of spending? You wont be ‘throwing’ the money. It’ll be spent immediately (thats what poor folks do) anyway, usually on cheaper, non-imported goods and return to the economy. Money returns to the public/private sector.
Are you against subsidies on consumer goods? Those have been halved to 129 billion. A much more substantial amount than 50 billion. They play the same role (in a less targeted way) as income support. Why not call to spend all of that on development.. since that subsidy is also charity from friends?
