Ok I seem to have found a new trend in asians. Why is it that when older mens wives pass away they easily seem to get married afterwards and that to to people several years their juniors.
First there was the 60 year old man got married to a 30 year old from pakistan two years after his wife passed away, he has several grown children the age of his wife!
and recently there was a 70 year old man who got married to a 24 year old from pakistan, and his children are even older that his wife!
why? several of these girls families obviuosly need the money but after they get their girls married to these old men their parents back up and the girls are brought to foriegn countries where they have to listen to the demands of their husbands and be the butt of all jokes that their now step children think of!
Well if they are rich even 18 years old wouldn't mind marrying them...thats all to it
there is a bhuda i know, who used to teach me and has a institution (a lot of people in Karachi know him) but i wouldn't take names and he gets married to his students even when he marries one girl for 6-8 months latest still the other young girls dont mind marrying him.
^ well ten years is nt a big difference..my gng to be husband is abt 9-10 years older than me...and its a love marriage...
however age gap more than ten years is baaaaad...too baad.....
yeah i some how find marriages with a huge age gap just not right. However correct me if I am wrong, since i am not aware of the exact ages of all the prophets wives, but was there not quite a considerable age gap between the prophet muhammad ( SAW) and one of his wife's?
See if someone because they themselves have an age difference of 10 years would say 10 years is fine while everything after that is not tolerable and ones who have age difference of 12,13,15 would say that that age difference is fine while more then that is a big no no!

Prophets one wife was i guess 10 years or so elder then him so we know in Islam this age difference is allowed even when the wife is elder.
Prophet's one of the wife was younger then him so we know that even then the marriage is valid.
Khadija (R) was 20 years older than the Prophet (SAW).
Aisha (R) was at least 30 years younger than the Prophet (SAW) when he married her. Some say more than 30 years (I'm saying AT LEAST 30 years, because no one really knows the exact age difference).
However, if you're 70 years old and you marry a 24 yr old girl, you really should think twice about it. He's going to die soon and is it fair to leave such a young girl widowed so early in life? Is it fair to marry her when your kids are older than her and you KNOW they'll give her a hard time?
See for me it’s not soo much the marrying part. It’s about the poor women who get married to these older men and when they come over to a foriegn country everything changes, and worst still they’re treated like crap:smack:. and the whole man will probably die first thing too, I mean who can begin to imagine the crap afterwards!
And often in situations like these the step children play up sooo badly even f they are older than the bride herself!
In our extended family I know of one girl who is 25 and is married to a 58ish year old. She was married at a young age (about 17 I think) in India and she was treated badly by her hubby, who was a drinker/gambler etc. She returned to her parents home with a 3 year old in tow at the age of about 20 and they then wanted her to re-marry. She got married to this guy in the UK and moved here, and he daughter came with her. She is really happily married, he has a good business, her step-children who all but one are older than her are on good terms. Her hubby treats her like a princess, but she isn't spoilt, they have a most gorgeous little girl now.
When she married this guy, the family were quick to talk and said her father didn't care etc, but now the same people say that it's the best move she made etc etc. She has now called her brother and sister over and i believe they will settle here too.
So, she has paved the way for stability for her family, less worries for her parents...............etc etc
This is just to show that it CAN work out and although it's not "everyones cup of tea" for those who aren't bothered by the age gap taboo, it can mean building a far better and sometimes most deserved life that they otherwise wouldn't have had.
That's not to say that I would be willing to do it - I can't imagine marrying someone who is so much older than me - but for those willing to do it, good luck to them.
it just depends on how much u love the person. If my fiance was like 30 yrs older that me or wahtever, i'd still marry him, just cuz i love him so much, and i know he'd do that same.
