And that is exactly what I am implying. Outside the core values of Islam, that is the five pillars, almost every other aspect can be revisited. Judiciary system of Islam is not cast in stone. It’s flexible.
First and foremost, the system is only applicable in real Islamic state. If you can prove to me that Brunei or any other nation today is a real Islamic state, then I will back off. When the state is no longer Islamic, then invidiual responsibilities remain the same, but everything else needs to be modified.
Again i’m no mufti so not sure if its only subject to “real” islamic state or no. My comments are in general as per my limited knowledge of religion. I’m sure everyone of you know better than me
Seriously though, when someone says we can not have any exceptions in the context of this thread - I think this is the Brunei thread - it is fair to point out that the same person and those with similar views abt inflexibility of the law admit to cooking up excuses to avoid work.
I think that is inconsistent. And it’s fair to point it out. If we were to take the law to its logical conclusion, not sure too many of us would have fingers left to type our posts. Is all I am saying. No shots. No disses.
The Sultan and I Broke His Sharia Law…
Now the sultan is making headlines for implementing Sharia law in Brunei, including a new penal code that includes stoning to death for adultery, cutting off limbs for theft, and flogging for violations such as abortion, alcohol consumption, and homosexuality. There’s also capital punishment for rape and sodomy.
I am no expert in international human rights. My only qualification in commenting on this issue is that one drunken evening in the early ’90s, the sultan and I committed at least two of the aforementioned offenses as we looked down on the lights of Kuala Lumpur from a penthouse suite.

Not everything from nature will be ok for you, natural disaster is for example.
Furthermore, if everything from nature was right or normal then no religion would have been sent to us.
Religion tells us difference in right and wrong.
