I have a friend who is kinda shareef like i am. Friends of ours set him up on a date. So the guy went on the date and according to him it went just fine. But he didnt hear from the girl again. Now that girl was a friend of of our frnds. So thru grapevine, we heard that girl thought she went on a date with her “brother”.
Now that guy is shy & shareef, so ofcourse he didnt try any hanky panky during the date. And he’s a little dejected now. Is there any suggestions that folks on this forum can share on being agressive? or is the girl just promiscious and my frnd did the right thing?
sheesh....the gal went to meet and liked the guy but felt no "spark", she was not attracted to him as a potential rishta but otherwise found him to be a nice guy. Thats what she meant.
boi....a gal can be "physically attracted" to a guy that she doesnt know and then upon meeting it fizzles out. A physical attraction can be a good place to start but doesnt always end up in marital bliss. Personality and personal traits, outlook on life, etc are very important to gals...so sure, maybe your friend is physically attractive but apparently she found his personality not a match to hers.

Well, ok, maybe. I dont buy it. What does the word "brother" mean, ofcourse the personality spark was there, otherwise why compare it to brother. I guess what was missing was the "physical" spark.
my take on it? She saw the guy, thought he was physically attractive and so agreed to meet him but did not find him to be rishta material for whatever reason. Like I said before, physical attraction is a good place to start but thats all it is...a starting point. So while the gal found him to be at least an ok person (a "brother")....thats all he will ever be to her, a brother.
Think about it man. Really, would a gal complain that on a first date the guy didnt "try" anything and acted like a brother???? Even in the west, that would be pretty uncommon. And would make the gal pretty low but standards of west or east.
So my first paragraph here makes more sense and fits much better. Please....do not encourage your friend (or anyone else) to get aggressive!
I wonder why the 'shareef guy' went on a date anyway!
Solution to the problem is simple though. 'Shareef guy' needs to spark up his personality, maybe he should watch the latest hollywood or bollywood movies regarding the subject.
Regardless, she may have just called him brother because she didn't end up liking him and wanted to say it without hurting his feelings. And just because she saw his pic doesn't have to mean she was physically attracted to him, just means she thought he was worth giving a chance.
Being physically attracted to someone doesnt guarantee chemistry. When two people interact and mix, even if they found each other physically appealing...if a certain spark isnt there...that physical attraction dies out.
Im assuming she thinks of your friend as a friend...nothing more. He may be good looking but doesnt do much for her. Thats why she compared him to her brother.
