How can we talk about the Ummah/Islamic unity/Brotherhood when the impotent Arab League can’t even endorse a punitive strike against Syria? Please spare me the excuses: The non Muslims nations of the West have a greater moral rectitude than the so-called Islamic world full of beyghairats.
CAIRO — The leaders of the Arab world on Tuesday blamed the Syrian government for a chemical weapons attack that killed hundreds of people last week, but declined to back a retaliatory military strike, leaving President Obama without the broad regional support he had for his last military intervention in the Middle East, in Libya in 2011.
This is the biggest problem in the Muslim world that I have noticed...before being a MUSLIM...you are more bothered about if you are a SUNNI or a SHIA! It really is a shame :(
Any party that is more bothered about what sect they belong to rather than the nation they come from or the religion they come from...they will never succeed until they act as a united front.
This is also another very easy angle for your enemies to use to cause rift between the nations and within nations..because they know that there is no unity...because everyone is so busy bickering amongst each other that they are blind to what is happening right in front of their eyes.
In the middle of all this bickering it is the innocent that pay the price with their blood and the rest of the nations are only "condemning" the act!
Syrian war has divided the whole muslim world on sectarian basis, therefore the lack of unity is understandable.
Sect is more important than 1200+ innocent men, women, and children being killed by poison gas launched by a so-called 'Muslim' State? Sect is more important that more than 100,000 dead in this civil war?
Which is why it's shameful when I see Pakistanis defending this or that organization/government in the Middle East. Leave them to their mess. Let's focus on building national unity regardless of political differences so that we can actually be a voice of reason for the Middle East, not another source of tension.

I'll tell you who are our biggest enemies, it's Muslims themselves! The biggest hypocrites are the Muslims who raise howls of protest when Israel does one thing or another -- but here, we have a confirmed case of chemical weapons usage by a so called 'Muslim' state against its own people and the eunuchs of the Arab League can't even pass a resolution supporting the use of force?
Let's review the great Arab/Muslim accomplishments of the last 75 years, shall we:
Allying against the fragile Ottoman Empire, by colluding with the British/French to achieve freedom. Result: Loss of the Holy Land (Al Quds).
Three repeated losses in wars against Israel where 3+ Arab countries attacked with 5X the manpower. Result: Loss of West Bank, Golan Heights, Gaza Strip, and the Sinai Peninsula.
I stand by the statement: The West has shown greater moral rectitude than the so-called Arab/Muslim nations.

This goes beyond one organization/government, goes beyond Syria, sectarianism, religion: When governments use WMDs against their own people, that government no longer has a right to exist. There is no gray area here. If the Pakistani government/military uses WMDs against its own people, people like Sharif and Kayani should be castrated, tortured, and killed in public, to show the world what happens when you harm your own people.

I agree with you...you are your biggest enemy and I don't know when the majority of the ppl would realize this :(
I feel that instead of trying to point fingers at Israel and the USA...you need to first sort out affairs in your own house...then you can look to the rest...if you don't sort out the issues in your own house first, then no one can save the walls crumbling around your ears.

I am just pointing out a fact, see around you and see who is supporting whom (on country level and within countries).
I am surprised that Syria wasn't "punished" by the arab league as I do think that they have suspended its membership. I think the growing realization is that unlike Libya, syria is next door and even if there is not punitive strike against arab states by syria, there would be refugees and god forbid the fat arab rulers have to pay to host refugees. I think the saying is right that having a generous heart has nothing to do with if you are rich or not. The gulf states are eager to fight proxy wars but are a bunch of cowards if they have to take a direct stand. Saudis / qataris can fund "rebels" but they can't set up a no-fly zone. Saudis are still probably cheering how they "routed" the houthi rebels with their "sophisticated" typhoon, tornadoes, and strike eagles.

Exactly. I can't respect the opinions or faux-outrage of Muslims when they are not able to stand up against Syria -- a joke of a country even during Hafez Assad's time, where Israeli jets would knock out military installations without impunity, even in the 1980s.
This goes beyond politics of difference: The Assad regime must be held accountable for the massacres of civilians, which is why I support any US/UK/NATO action.

I know what you're saying Bro and its not directed towards you. We can discuss politics/sectarianism all day and night -- many opinions can be valid, however my message here is to expose the hypocrisy of the Muslim/Arab nations over the Syrian use of WMD. This infuriates me because if Israel had used the same chemical weapons against the Palestinians, everyone from the Arab governments to the Muslim street would have been outraged, ready for war etc.

Absolutely! I agree on all counts. I condemn the Saudis, Iranians, Qataris, Hezballah, you name it. Even today, that Jordanian King is refusing to allow US/NATO to use Jordanian territory because he fears 'spillover' of the conflict. I say this to him: I'm sorry but why does Jordan even exist? Besides the fact that your lecherous forefathers colluded with the British/Americans in creating this artificial entity which has no basis in history and installed your family as the puppets for their advancing neo-imperialist agenda in the region.

.
The Arab league and the OIC (organisation of impotent nations) are creations of United Kingdom since 1945 so if British created it what you expect from them?
They are useless since their creation everybody knows this.
The people are not supportive of these regimes or these organisation. The people are united they want action on Palestine they want action on egypt on Syria etc but the regimes surpress these calls.

What divides us is these regimes.
Then whats the solution? Regional regime change? If the people are united, then why can't they form a political union.
