Re: Bringing that spark back into marriage
The lady was actually quite nice because someone from the crowd asked her if it is only our responsibilty as women to fix a marriage, and she replied by telling that her husband was telling the guys in the men’s section of the masjid what their role is as a husband. So I guess we only hear one side of the story…
Re: Bringing that spark back into marriage

No, we don't need to...but it is nice to attend lectures once in a while and get some bonus nuggets or reminders. Sometimes even common sense escapes the common man.:)

Is this common sense the reason why we see such "PEACFULL" marriage lives on GS
Re: Bringing that spark back into marriage
These have clearly been written by men, for men. They remind me of those 1940s manuals on how to be the perfect housewife, where the woman’s role in life was to cook, clean, be subordinate and meet her husband’s every desire. I thought Islam was more progressive than that.
To keep spark alive you need passion. Slaves don’t do passion. The aalima was oh so wrong

Hmmm. I guess passion comes from dedication.
But then what do I know?
I need to figure out how to put a ban to slavery first. Sheesh!
