Brigadier General Shaikh Talib Bin Saqr Al Qasimi and Colonel Abdullah Al Hadidi

Arab women are making name for themselves. It’s refreshing news like this coming from the Persian Gulf. I want to discuss the criminal justice system of the UAE. Are the courts there pretty swift and fast, or does cases linger there forever, like they do in other places?

Wife kills husband over family dispute

By Nasouh Nazzal, Staff Reporter

Ras Al Khaimah : A woman who shot her sleeping husband twice in the head fabricated a fake story about his death and then asked one of her brothers to report the murder to the police. The woman told the police during investigations that her husband was shot by somebody who knocked at the front door.According to her testimony, the 47-year-old husband, who was sleeping, rushed to the door as soon as he heard the knock. “In few moments, I heard the voice of something heavy hitting the wall,” she said. The woman said she went out and saw her bleeding husband and assisted him to reach the bedroom where he died.

Brigadier General Shaikh Talib Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, said during a press conference held yesterday at the emirate’s police department that the crime was “totally alien to the UAE society”.Brigadier General Shaikh Talib said the crime took place around 4:30am on Sunday. The police found traces of blood in the bedroom. The body of the victim was later moved to the emirate’s morgue, he said.Officers doubted the wife’s version of the story which claimed the victim survived crossing the house garden to reach his bedroom after he was shot twice in the head from a very short distance, said Brigadier General Shaikh Talib.

Moreover, no blood traces were found in the garden and at the door, he said.Examining the crime scene, Brigadier General Shaikh Talib said, the police analysed the finger prints and found that the bed on which the victim slept was wet and had been washed recently, which fuelled suspicion.Colonel Abdullah Al Hadidi, who heads the Criminal Investigation Department at the Ras Al Khaimah Police Department, said the police recovered recently washed bed and pillow covers from a secret place in the house.

Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Munakhas, the Head of the Investigation Section at the Ras Al Khaimah Police Department, said the police then suspected the 46-year-old wife and arrested her. When questioned about the covers and her fingerprints on them, the woman confessed to the crime and led police to the hidden weapon.Long-standing family dispute resulted in the murder, the police said. The woman has been referred to the Ras Al Khaimah Public Prosecution.

Re: Brigadier General Shaikh Talib Bin Saqr Al Qasimi and Colonel Abdullah Al Hadidi

Right so now murder is acceptible? That would make it ok for someones wife to kill her husband?

Re: Brigadier General Shaikh Talib Bin Saqr Al Qasimi and Colonel Abdullah Al Hadidi

CM, where did I say that murder is acceptable? What I said is that I don’t believe the statements of the Police people saying that stuff like this is ‘alien’ to UAE. That’s a load of nonsense. How can a Police chief make a stupid remark like that? Is he saying that women are less capable of murdering their men as opposed to men? Think about it.

Re: Brigadier General Shaikh Talib Bin Saqr Al Qasimi and Colonel Abdullah Al Hadidi

So what exactly is refreshing then NYA? That they found the criminal?

Re: Brigadier General Shaikh Talib Bin Saqr Al Qasimi and Colonel Abdullah Al Hadidi

CM,. Forget about refreshing, I wasn’t even trying to be overtly sarcastic. If you like, I can be.

Re: Brigadier General Shaikh Talib Bin Saqr Al Qasimi and Colonel Abdullah Al Hadidi

i presume when he mentions "the crime" he's referring to the woman's earlier story of some stranger knocking at a door and shooting whoever comes to open the door..

Re: Brigadier General Shaikh Talib Bin Saqr Al Qasimi and Colonel Abdullah Al Hadidi

PA, yeah. The other thing that pisses me completely off is that when everyone jumps on the defensive bandwagon. So what if a woman killed her hubby? Why does a Police Chief even has to make a statement like “this never happens in the UAE, this Alien to this country”.. I mean what the freck is a big deal about a woman killing a man? It happens every where. Stupid jerks like these two police chiefs are part of the reason for the kinda bad rap they get.

I say, more power to UAE women. UAE men are a bunch of pigs and deserve to die.

Re: Brigadier General Shaikh Talib Bin Saqr Al Qasimi and Colonel Abdullah Al Hadidi

Never underestimate Madhanee. Would you be concentrating on the words of a police man had it been the woman who got shot by the man?

Re: Brigadier General Shaikh Talib Bin Saqr Al Qasimi and Colonel Abdullah Al Hadidi

That’s an excellent question MQ. Let me think about it a little.

Re: Brigadier General Shaikh Talib Bin Saqr Al Qasimi and Colonel Abdullah Al Hadidi

MQ - If the woman was shot by a man and she was in an Abbaya, my answer is NO. Because she wouldn’t have known who killed her, so it is her word against his word.

Re: Brigadier General Shaikh Talib Bin Saqr Al Qasimi and Colonel Abdullah Al Hadidi

^

I'm afraid that did NOT make sense to me. Don't you mean that HE wouldnt have known who he killed? Assuming she was in an abbaya. But why would he go off and kill a random woman in an abbaya anyway?

My question was, how come you are not commenting on the fact that a man was murdered by a woman. How is the news refreshing? You seem almost gleeful about it.

Re: Brigadier General Shaikh Talib Bin Saqr Al Qasimi and Colonel Abdullah Al Hadidi

He was not just a man... MQ --- he was an Arab man. Yeah baby!

Re: Brigadier General Shaikh Talib Bin Saqr Al Qasimi and Colonel Abdullah Al Hadidi

^ You're starting to worry me.

Re: Brigadier General Shaikh Talib Bin Saqr Al Qasimi and Colonel Abdullah Al Hadidi

I say more power to MJ ...maybe we should send some NY state's kids to Neverland. What kind of justice system lets a child molester go free?

Re: Brigadier General Shaikh Talib Bin Saqr Al Qasimi and Colonel Abdullah Al Hadidi

^ yeah what kind of person lies in bed with kids that are 9 yrs old. I am with kaleem on this one.

Re: Brigadier General Shaikh Talib Bin Saqr Al Qasimi and Colonel Abdullah Al Hadidi

PD, is it the same person who used to sleep with his granddaughter? talk to me

Re: Brigadier General Shaikh Talib Bin Saqr Al Qasimi and Colonel Abdullah Al Hadidi

He slept with his granddaughter too?

Re: Brigadier General Shaikh Talib Bin Saqr Al Qasimi and Colonel Abdullah Al Hadidi

Guys, we can open another topic on sleeping. This one is about a Shiekhnee whacking a Shiekh and then making up some story. I have a question: why would the Police Chief make stupid statements to Media? What explains that? I am saying that things like that go on all over the world, what’s such a big deal about a woman killing a man?

Re: Brigadier General Shaikh Talib Bin Saqr Al Qasimi and Colonel Abdullah Al Hadidi

may be he was reacting to a specific question, and is quoted out of context?..:flower1:

Re: Brigadier General Shaikh Talib Bin Saqr Al Qasimi and Colonel Abdullah Al Hadidi

Actually Ghulail, it is not the statement per say that is the issue. It’s the head in the sand that is troubling. Surprise surprise, last year alone close to 200 house maids (sri lankans, Bangladeshis, Filipinas, etc. were murdered in the Persian Gulf nations (I will post an Amnesty finding soon). If a schumk comes and make stupid statement like “it’s alien to UAE” is talking thru his camel hole. Sorry, but it bothers me.
