With a personal Xperience on hand with regards to a very serious accident I had around 3 yrz back, I can say that the courts of Dubai are Xcellent. There are 7 states in UAE, & they are all a confederation. Each state has its own justice department. It took me only 3 months to clear myself out, alhadulillah, if it wasnt for the 'arab' lawyer I hired, I would have seen a year behind lockup for endangering the lives of others at a reckless speed, plus I would have lost the minimal amount, from the insurance, I was getting for my wrecked Merc.
The crime that the lady committed is truly alien yaar madhanee, because over here there are family values still dominant, although it has slowly started to fade away, thanks to alcohol, sex, drugs & **** load of money...a prime example being the case that u just mentioned.
Incidentally, there was another Pakistani...who is now a VJ on ARY's channel. He was in for hitting an Indian with his CBR 900...although the guy was compensated, the Indian fellow filed a case after 6 months because he wanted to extort some more money. Anyway the judge saw nothing wrong on his part & let Faraz(the VJ) go, whereas I was ordered to pay a fine of 300 dhs(approx $100) plus the damage to municipal property 900dhs(approx $300) & they gave me the insurance papers. After that I vowed never ever to touch 200kph on the city roads again...
