NASA discovers bridge of Ramayana period
By IndiaExpress Bureau
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) space shuttle has imaged a mysterious ancient bridge between India and Sri Lanka, as mentioned in the Ramayana.
The evidence, according to experts is in the Digital Image Collection.
The bridge, which was discovered only recently, was named as Adam’s Bridge. It is made of a chain of shoals, 30 km long, in the Palk Straits between India and Sri Lanka.
The bridge reveals the mystery behind it. The bridge’s unique curvature and composition by age reveals that it is man-made.
Legend as well as Archeological studies have it that the first signs of human inhabitants in Sri Lanka date back to the primitive age, about 1,750,000 years ago. And the bridge is almost equivalent.
Kmguru, the Ramayama and other hinduistic scripts and legends go back about 8,000 years ago. As the Maharabata speaks pf flying machines, atomic wars, radiation, cities in orbit, etc, we can asume that those people (not necessarily the common hindus) had a technology that could have built the bridge. I wonder why didn't they built it across the much shorter span seen at the south of the island, though. Perhaps the shorelines have changed a lot since then...
But man is not just 70,000 years old. I don't want to get into an argument with no one, but the famous Stones of Ica, found in the Ocucaje desert in Perú, suggest there existed a civilization about 70 million years ago, living along with the dinosaurs. The evidence is strong enough to support this theory. Perhaps in some days from now I could give you more details on this.
Imagine just this: the famous Paracas mantle, found in Perú, is one of the oldest archaeological findings ever made in America (not the US, of course) and it describes the genetic disorder known as "syndactilia", an hereditary trait that prevents the growing of the thumb in both hands. How do you (or anyone) explain this?
I have personally seen a "pressure pot" made of ceramics, with a relief valve on top (and two handles that were secured together for making it resistant to the inside pressure) that belongs to the Chimú civilization in Perú. As they lived more than 3,000 years ago, high in the Andes, that seems to be an excellent way to have their soup ready in a jiffy...
I will be back in the board soon. I have been too busy (away from home) to get in touch with you people. Have a nice time.
Ramayana is a myth and Indian Express owned by Goenka, is a pro-BJP fundamentalist newspaper and doesn’t have much credibility. Ramayana is an invention of 15th century and never existed ever before. There is no archeological or historical record of Rama as a God before 15th century. No Aryan or Vedic literature ever mentioned about Rama. Even old Vedic people never had names like Rama. You will find people with Rama name only after 3rd Century A.D.
If such article is published in a world reknowned international scientific journal like NATURE, then it carries some credibility. But by the end of this century I suppose that some of the continents will get connected by intercontinental bridges and tunnel trains will ferry the passengers. At least Europe and North America and Japan with East Asea will certainly get connected. This is a real possibility because of the aggressive advancement taking place in Civil Engineering technology.
Stompy & Sally…why are you guys so anxious about this? relax!
Anyway, all you have to do is travel to south India and you can see many of the stones of the bridge yourself.
Nobody cares whether Ramayana atually happened or not. The wisdom of what’s related therein is what matters. Unlike other religions that shall go nameless, Hinduism is more about knowledge, wisdom and duty rather than personalities, even if the personality is a God. Religion is for people to improve their way of life, not to constrain the heck out of them and get them scared to turn left or right.
Please don’t misunderstand me. I am not criticising Hinduism. I do acknowledge that there is a lot of wisdom embedded in Gita, Ramayana and Mahabharata. Ramayana and Mahabharata are just stories with great amount of practical human wisdoms and that’s all.
Just recall the event, when NASA announced that it had discovered a several million year old meteroid from MARS with an evidence of bacterial life and its after effects. The then American President himself announced it and this news was published in every major newspaper all over the globe. Why this kind of wave was not created when the so called NASA news quoted by Indian Express? Even Times Of India didn’t mention it. If the news has credibility then it attracts world wide attention.
I was just assuming, minus the religion aspect humans could have built a bridge. I mean look at the great wall of China. However assuming anyone is criticizing Hinduism is a little immature. Its about looking at evidence and then drawing a conclusion, from it. Sal is correct much of Hinduism is based on a mythological aspect, like many of the gods are mythological. I personally know many Hindus who do not take many Hindu scriptures literally.

Vedas were in existance long before Rama was born..
What is ur proof that Ramayan is a myth...please refrain from religious beliefs if u follow other even stupidest beliefs urself.:).
If you are an atheist come and talk to me.
I am not trying to hurt your or anybody's religious feelings. But Ramayana was written somewhere in the 15th century. Vedas came into existence somewhere around 1500 B.C. Aryans came to India around that period. There is a great similarity between Veda and Avesta.
Go and see Elephenta caves, Khajuraho temples or Alexandria caves or any ancient site in India which are either 1000 years or older than that. You will never find any reference to Rama. It is all Shiva, Bramha or Vishnu. Nowhere on any ancient site you will ever find reference to Rama as a God. So it goes without saying that Ramayana as a religious story was historically written very recently. Also the human technology, customs and cultures depicted in Ramayan is a clear evidence that it's all a very recent scenario.
Since 600 B.C. all the history is almost precisely recorded since language had sufficiently developed by that time. Vedas were written just 1000 years before that then where Ramayana appeared in between. No respected historians will ever admit that Ramayana episode ever happened in real life. But Ramayana is a great epic of practical human wisdom. This wisdom had not been gained until recently.

So when was it written. Who wrote it or in ur tone , who fabricated it. ur belief is only in muslim or christian or leftist historians. What is human technology had to do with Ramayan. It is a great epic. Many charecters.. Who ever wrote it should be genious, isnt it.
look frankly speaking it doesnt make a lot of difference for me if there is a bridge or not. I would care less. But I hate hypocracy.
Whatever it is my dear.. it is a belief and people of other faith should in my opinion refrain from passing judgments. I am no great believer myself. I believe in God and I am a hindu because I follow that culture, but never read any of the books. I dont believe God created man. I dont believe that God send messengers to the world to make it right. I have my opinion on Mohammad and Quran, but I dont want to hurt anybody with my doubts or the histroric stupidity of all religions.
Vinayaka Chaturthi is the biggest festival in Maharashtra. It was practically unknown one century ago and nobody observed it. It was Tilak (the great freedom fighter) who popularised this festival in Maharashtra to bring awareness among the people for independence movement against the British. Today it’s a huge colourful festival with no parallel elsewhere.
Similarly it was Tulsidas in 16th century who popularised Ramayana and gradually it became the biggest Hindu festival. Ramayana was virtually unknown before 15th century.
U know Sal, if I was living in the time of harsha vardhana or Ashoka, I would have converted to Budhism. Every religion has its renaissance. If Hinduism has survived these many years when most pre historic religion have vanished, then that shows the evolution of the religion and to accept and adapt to changes. Hinduism is not what it is being practiced in 1000BC or even in the earlier part of 19th century.
I think the biggest positive in Hinduism is that u have the choice of following it the way u like.
