Bridal Shopping in Karachi - Outfits, Shoes

If you have a design in mind, try going to Gulf and Kehkashan market first. Both are pretty huge areas laden with tailors sitting there with there piles of bridal magazines, copying designs from every known designer in Pakistan. Go to a shop named 'Designers' at Kehkashan as they are well-known for their stuff. Also, visit 'Mohsins'. PLk is pretty good. I have ordered from there and their work is really fine. Haven't ordered from Mohsin but have seen their work. It is awesome! These shops are on main Tariq Road, on opposite sides. It is pretty easy to find them.

I think Zardosi also has a nice bridal outfits in a reasonable range.

Just went to ‘Kehkashan Shopping Arcade’ and everything there was lovely! I fell for so many outfits that my mother had to beg me to stop drooling in front of each shop. Anyways, the quality of work there is really good and closest to the originals we see every day. Remember, the prices are a bit steep, not ridiculous like the originals but affordable for those for have a starting range of Rs.8,000 - Rs.12,000. That is indeed a ‘Designer Copy Dream place.’ Also saw a really cool mango outfit with light kundan work at RimJhim. :wub:Just had no time to visit ‘Think Pink’ but I like their clothes.

and yea about kehkashan...did you saw any designers lehenga (copied)....like karma or HSY.....was there any particular shop where u can see most of the copied dress which are very similiar to the orignal...i mean any one you would suggest....

naila, I saw a cool mango colour outfit with light kundan work at RimJhim and liked it very much. Think Pink is in the same line as RimJhim. Both are located at Teen Talwar opposite Kehkashan.

There were Karma, Nayna, Asifa and Nabeel copies everywhere and the kaam was fine and intricate, very similar to the originals. The salesmen were saying that they can make any copy and that bridals were made to order. I just had to show them the design and leave it up to them. As you enter the place, 'Palace of Designers' comes on the right hand side and their work was fab. The shop right is front of it was great, too. The place is actually very small so you can do a quick survey within minutes. It is loads better than Gulf.

well i wanted to ask is teen talwar a place name or what...because i thought kehkashan is in gulf...actuall i went to pak around 2 years before and that was for only 1 week thats y i am not sure about the places..

so they do make bridals but they dont have samples right....did you saw the work at the designer...i read in a thread that they also have good work of karma...

Karachi has many landmarks and Clifton’s Teen Talwar (Three Swords) is one of them. It is actually a monument located in Clifton, Karachi, inscribed with Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah’s creed Unity, Faith and Discipline. Simply for that reason the whole place surrounding it is called Teen Talwar. One one side of it is ‘Gulf’, Mc Donalds, K.F.C, Rim Jhim and on the other side is Hilal-e-Ahmer House and a bit farther away is Kehkashan Shopping Arcade. Hope I am making sense here.

They did not have samples at that time but said that some will come up in a few days. They wanted me to just pick a designer/ a particular design and they would give me the quote and making time there and then. I already told you that the quality was A-class. There was a light blue outfit there with stunning sapphire and silver work.

and yea i wanted to ask you...i saw one of my friend's wedding pics and she said her wedding venue was acropis...i wanted to ask if its still avaible for wedding or not as i had heard thats its closed already...is there any other good lawns for wedding...prefer in clifton side...

ok PLK is at tariq road right next to Jabeens,....basically just go to tariq road and ask anyone
I visited PLK just to check out the dresses and their price range was Rs 45k and up
IMO the dresses there did not have very nice finishing but then again I only looked at a few dresses there
I can tell you to check out Jabeens as well which is right next to PLK but their price range is a little higher about Rs 50k or 60k and up .....Jabeens had better bridals than PLK but check out both for your own experience :)

I checked SABS yesterday.The wedding makeup was good but i didnt like the valima bride ...I also checked delton depilux yesterday but the makeup waz soooooooo bad .. Now today i called to laiqa's beauty salon and i talked with tayyaba's sister ..She said that the bridal makeup charges with services is 14500/- Rs. and the valima makeup is for 10k Rs. :)
