ahh this is gulzaeb beg ali, she's one of the leading asian models in the uk. absolutely stunningggg!
i saw mutz cutz on zee music ans mutz said that he was married but didnt know that he is married to gulzaeb, wow nice couple, do u have more pics of their marriage plz !!!
How much jewelry do you think I would have to wear to “look like a dulhan” if I wore a saree with my hair uncovered (and possibly with a sleeveless blouse depending on whether my mum lets me)? What do you ladies think of something like this…is it just too OTT:
Your aunt looks stunning in that saree. They just don’t make banarsi sarees like that anymore…
Princess Niloufer was Turkish…she was the great-granddaughter of the Ottoman Sultan Murad V. After the fall of the Ottoman empire she went into exile with her family, and was ultimately married off to one of the sons of the Nizam of Hyderabad (thus the sarees).
IMO sleeveless is a contemporary/modern look; I think it would suit the designer saree you posted more than the traditional one you have. if you want to go traditional but still keep your head uncovered, jewelery like in teh picture you posted above will be nice. You can always do cap sleeves, get a much lighter haar and a small necklace + big earrings iwth the saharay, and a classic updo.
thanks jenab-e-ali..I wish I wore a sari for my walima too, my father-in-law wanted me too he thought I will look nicel, but my MIL was like no, she will wear ghagra, I looked so pendo in that :( I think everybody @ the valima looked better than me :)
the pic you posted is so not OTT personally I think you can wear sleeveless too, not sure about your family/traditions, even in 70/80s some dulhans wore saris without sleeves and it looked just fine, I don't think it looked too modern. All depends on how you carry the sari and accessorize it properly.
lol..i know..i have family pics from 60s..and it seems as if everrrryone wore sleeveless with saris back then..
janab panch lara, chokar, matha patti, tikka…jhumkas, chand balas, bazoo band…anything will look lovely with a sari!
if i were given the opportunity..i would do go with this look with the sari..except the jhoomar would go in its respective place…
jaanabe ali wear you the vintage sari at your dholki and have a full sleeves blouse to make it look more classic and wear the other one you posted at your valima with a sleeveless blouse
i like the old fashioned look my friend nishi did an up do and it was lovely, this was the morning of her wedding pooja
i do plan on removing the pic so try not to quote
also i loved this shilpa shetty look, and i think the sheer dupatta really was a nice touch, then again indian brides never really do a heavy dupatta like paki brides
My mother has her chand baliyan from when she got married...IMO...they are so beautiful and romantic looking. I dont see a lot of people making those designs anymore...:(
janab, go for the sleeveless- to me, it seems more vintage than with sleeves! i guess i'm also thinking of the 60s and 70s when sleeveless was really in.
the pic you posted is perfect- i would add a teeka to finish off the bridal look.
I love love love this look. Its so mughal inspired. I like the placement of the jhumaar. Its a fresh take. Do you think this look would work for a valima since its not necessary to wear the dupatta over the head?
