Is it possible to find a decent designer style bridal outfit for a 30,000 budget? esp in Lahore?

I have expensive taste but not the money to match…:frowning:

advice sisters please.

you can try prototype.. she's a homebased designer from lahore.

if you're looking for an extremely heavy/embelished jora, 30k might not be enough.. unless you REALLY look around shops.

check ashia khadija maybe u have more luck with them. they have a dress for 35.000rs go on there facebook group than u can see it.

i think 30 for a heavy bridal is the lowest range... Designers probably only do formals in that price range... also if u bargain heavily maybe u can get it up to 30K

I'm not looking for designer as I know i cant afford it but something which looks just as good ..if you see what i mean.

what if i design the outfit myself and get it made ..will this make a difference.. I know exactly what I want in terms of colours and style of kaam but I want it executed expertly

ofcourse u can get a dress made in 30k rs. just keep in mind that prices have been increasing a lot in pakistan. so if 30k is ur budget just know ur not gonna be able to get the nicest fabrics or that much kaam. just to give u an idea for my wedding, my sister got a lehnga made from kehkashan in khi. her lehnga cost Rs.30k (fabric and embroidery). we got really nice chiffon and jamavar for the lehnga,shirt and dupatta. the shirt was fully covered with embroidery that consisted of pearls and crystals, u couldnt even see 1 cm of the shirt.the back of the shirt only had embroidery on the neck, hemline, zipper and spray of crystals and pearls. the dupatta had a border with same embroidery on all 4 sides and spray everywhere else on the dupatta. the lehngha just had a 3 inch border (same embroidery as shirt) on the bottom and had a light spray all over. they had bought an original karma shirt which my sister liked and had it copied and they made it EXACTLY like the original. stitching was separate that cost around Rs. 6k.

so thats just to give an idea, and that definitely isnt a bridal. u would probably want a longer dupatta and more work on both the dupatta and lehnga. oh yeh and that was last yr when the exchange rate was around $1/Rs.60. besides the exchange rate, im sure prices have also risen. good luck!

Yes, its possible!!!

Go to any shop in liberty (back of liberty) they'll make it for you just don't tell them it's your bridal. Instead (if you want) tell them it's for a mehndi function. I know 'coz I asked them (last year, when I was there), just to check the lowest possible price.

afaaf, don't worry. use your brain and all your designing skills and i am sure u'll get a beautiful bridal dress in 30,000. Im saying this bcoz a friend of mine got one (the famous HSY red) from a local "kaam waala" . she bought the material herself, selected the design and kept checking on the progress. mashahAllah she looked gorgeous on her wedding! these "kaam waalas" know a lot of tricks, like how to fill a certain area with machine work and put a few stones here and there to make it look a "bhara bhara design" .
so go a head and be optimistic.

thanks guys for all the responses. I was becoming really disheartened but glad to know that there is a way around it.

I think designing and getting it made personally will probably be the cheapest.

starting from scratch....what type of fabrics are used for bridals? I am aiming for a mughal-style...how are they priced?

I dont like puffy fabrics, prefer delicate chiffon types. what is jamawar?
I'd love to mix and match fabrics which fabrics work best togther..

sorry guys im a total novice in this area. ...

i do have to say that after all the designer talk you see here and people going ga-ga over designer dresses, it is really heartening to see some great advice in regards to purchasing a budget lengha :)
