Thank you but I prefer to have my eyes completely smokey as it intensifies
my whole look. Because the rest will be more subtle. At the walimah I'm going for a " doe-eyed " shimmery look and therefore the wedding will be stronger.
Have you decided on anything yet?
Re: Bridal Makeup
on my walima i had a realllllly heavy black and gold smoky eye, but with a totally neutral lip, and a quiff type hair do a bit like paki fairy's, and it was the ultra modern look, it looked sexy more than pretty.
It was a nice change to the wedding look, which was a softer eye and stronger lip. i looked like 2 different people (in a good way!), it was the ultimate in dress up!!!
personally i think go traditional for the wedding day and funk it up for the walima and smoke it up!!!!
Yeah for weddings doing dramatic smokey eyes works better, turns-out better in pictures too! Twinklee, u've done a great job! Do remember to highlight u're browbone though =) I'm assuming u're outfit has hints of purple?

twinklee: are you a makeup artist? Wont you be abit nervous doing your own makeup on your wedding? Whose doing you hair? But the eyeshadow looks nice!

Thanks Gina!
I will definately remember to highlight the browbone, gives that extra
" omph " which I love.
My outfit is maroon but like you guessed, it has hints of purple :)

I'm not a makeup artist no, but that doesn't make me nervous at all cause I do my makeup everyday.
I know most girls like to have a makeup artist for the wedding but I chose not to because I already have a picture of what I wanted and I know I'd be able to do it. It's just a preferance :)
I'm not doing my hair though, I'm having it done by a hair stylist.
yeah I guess so if its your preference because you know what suits you and looks good on you. I guess the hairstylist will do your duppatta setting to? Have you decided how you want your hair? An updo or something different?
My sister just had her civil ceremony and she did the makeup herself but got someone else to do hair like you too. But for her wedding she will get makeup artist.
I will have a big bun and the it will look close to this picture:
I hope you have a wonderful time at your sisters wedding. Are the wedding bells ringing for you yet?
thanks..I am already married:)...
Do you think a side parting looks better or a middle parting with a duppatta?
That’s a great setting just make sure your dupatta is not that heavy or else it will weigh down your updo quite a bit.

At the risk of hijacking this thread with a private convo - I Pm'd you!

Thanks desi, I'll definately keep that mind. My dupatta is quiet heavy in terms of pattern but not very much in weight. And I'm planning to stuff the bun with a lot of (fake) hair to get it steady.
It will be like a cliff in the middle of a storm, you can hold on to it to save your life!
Twinklee, do try a deep red in the "crease" of u're eye (blended REALLY well)
