modern(or model)makeup is light coloured or shimmery glossy one or with smokey eyes,etc and similar hairdo's i.e. the ones we usually see in magazines..and traditional is the ..umm traditional one naa...i dont know how to explain :(
neelam:wch city in pakistan? if lahore,i would recommend New Look(m.m.alam road) or Housewife Home(shadman).as i already said,my sis got her face glow facial from allenora wch was really good too..so i guess their whiening fcial will be a good one too..and annie gave the instructions for my make up in the beginning and her artist Lamiya did it for me..like annie told her about the sades and that not to use ny kajal or liner for my lower lash as i already have small eyes..and then she came at the end and changed my lipstick shade and added some touch ups for my eyes..that's it !
and for mehndi..it depends how much you want to spend..i saw some good mehndi being done at housewife home at eid..all the salons normally charge about 1500-2000rs for bridal mehndi for hands,arm and feet. if you can spend more (about 2500-3500rs) go to Fantasies at m.m.alam road. they do awesome mehndi..but PLEASE DONT get it done from allenora atleast .. good luck :)

My wedding is in march inslalh...what should i start doing for my face & body from now, for glow and fair look. As i have mix skin.
Should i start ubtan from now? tell me any home made Totka for glowing skin as preparation of my wedding..
fruits+plenty of water+weekly or twice a week ubtan(i used saeed ghani's ubtan)+daily cleansing and moisturising..(i used noxema cleanser..it worked!!)stop using lipstick..just use chap stick..get your pedicure done or do it yourself every week..stop wearing khullay jootay or chappal..wear cotton socks after applying some foot cream or vaseline all the time..take care of your nails..stop wearing half sleeves whengoing in sun..try using a mixture of honey+lemon juice+glycerine+rose water at night (rub the mixture with a half cut lemon on your face,hands,arms and feet for 15 mins and wash it off)this will add glow and make skin colour lighter and softer(i used it cuz had tans due to going out shopping in sun and driving)
^make sure sure u stop using ubtan at least two weeks before your services
otherwise the parlour ladies say you could get a reaction or irritation to the facial

Anyway, going back to the subjuct I would be grateful if you could send me pictures of makeup to go with red bridal outfits/lehngas. Who is the best makeup artist who can make-up a bride wearing red and does anyone have any pictures to show.

Red is a very common bridal color. The make-up artists know what they are doing. Please check out the bridal pics posted in the past. Hopefully they’ll know what to do. Browns, charcoals, and golds are always nice with red.

Thanks so much for your replies and help Shahar and Aaana. I am really interested in the most recent current trends and those looks that are expected to be considered new and fresh looks for 2007. This includes the colour of traditional lehngas/Sharaaras/sarees and makeup etc. I have read alot obout certain salons not being able to do brilliant make-up to go with red outfits and others that are really good. I have had a flick through the links and can see some good close-ups but others where i can't really make out the colours used. I like Madeeha's style of make-up but then am told that she does not do good make-up for red outfits, however one of the other salons is brilliant with red. Does you have any pics please ? close-ups would be even better.

I'm back!...finally done with the wedding...life becomes so busy after the wedding..all those dinners etc...
anyways just to add to the information..i got my baraat day makeup done from New Look (including mehndi and pre-bridal services)...and Walima makeup was from Allenora (nail color not included :P )...
and ofcourse i looked like two different persons :p... NewLook was a good experience .... either the owner does the makeup(dont know name) or her daughter (Arsh)... all the rough stuff...including the base and base lipstick was done by miscellaneous girls... mehndi was good...everyone who saw it..liked the style...only problem was opening all that back-combing they did on my hair, for the hairstyle.
Allenora was good as well..i got there late then the given time..so they charged me 3000 late charges!...in Allenora's makeup..the entire stress was on the eyes... not much effort on the hairstyle and the lipstick...their foundation was much softer and real looking than that of Newlook..but at the same time..it spoiled real quick around the lip area...
end of the day...i would say..both are Allenora and Newlook are nice..
if you want a fresh and nice over all look...then go for Newlook..if u want just ur eyes enhanced ..then go for Allenora....

i think allenora is the best.. i got my baraat makeup done from there and she charged me 25,000...in this package annie told wht colour for base to put on me and wht kind of hair style and annie and another makeup artist did my makeup.
on the valima i got ready for allenora also but this time i got ready by her assistant ( the one who was helping her in doing my baraat makeup) and she did an awesome job... her name is qudsia...and for valima she charged me 10,000 since i got the signture line. if u want annie to do the complete look from her... the base, hair and makeup now she charges 50,000
