hi everyone, i never posted anything before this is my first time but i normally read everyone elses post especially on the bridal stuff..
anyways i wanted to share my experience with everyone maybe it can be helpful for anyone that gets there make up done in pakistan. and if i figure out how ill post up a picture of my nikkah day.
so last year i had my nikkah done in lahore. I got my make up done from deplix and it was the guy that does the make up for everyon on the drama serials u see on ary and geo. his name is Moon. The main reason why i chose this salon was cuz i heard alot about it and my aunt got her make up done from the same place and same person and believe me her make up came out sooo good that i decided right then that i want the same person for my wedding. but unfortunately my make up was the complete opposite.
My biggest fear was that they'll fill my face with foundation and powder and ill look pale white, (btw my complexion is very fair so i dont need to be anymore white than i already am lol) so i was looking for something very light.
first thing they ask u there is do u want dark make up or light make up and i said light make up thinking that itll be less foundation but it really meant that u want light colors for ur make up.
but anyway so he put the foundation on first and he showed me after applying it and it was perfect, exactly the same color as my skin and i got excited that yayy the foundation is exactly the same as my skin so i thought everything else should go well too ... but it didnt.
the eye make up was realy nice, the eye lashes were ok my eyes are small so it took me time to get adjusted to them, but the worst part was my eye brows and my lips. they took a razor and shaved off hallff of my eye brow and drew it bak with a liner, which i was soo pissed about cuz they didnt ask me before doing it, and they made it more thicker with the pencil and since it was summer time by the time i got to the hall my make up started melting lol and my eye brows started smearing it was so horrible.
so thats the first tip about getting make up done NEVER LET THEM SHAVE UR EYES BROWS OFF.
second tip. if u have normal lips dont ever let them make ur lips bigger. i have normal lips i dont need them any bigger, but he took a lip liner and drew outside of my lips, i was like why are u doing this i dont like it. hes like no u need it ur top lip is thinner than the bottom one. and it came out so weird cuz when i took my pictures i looked so weird smiling it looked so fake and unnatural.
the third thing they messed up was my hair. since im from NY. they thought i wanted to be a modern bride. but i really didnt i wanted a classical traditional look nothing over exxagerated. obviosly they didnt listen to me so he went ahead and decided to make a bun and make curls in the front. but he filled up my hair with so much hair spray that it made my hair all stiff and dried up so the curls didnt come out good. and i kept telling them how much i dont like it so please change it. and he was like noo u look good u look so modern blah blah. i was so pissed. i looked like a slut. i couldnt take it so i went and complained and good thing mussarat bushra was there. so i caught her and was like i am really not happy with my make up or my hair, she was really nice she was like yea i can see why ur not happy. so shes like ok ill change it for u. but there was so much hair spray in my hair they couldnt really do anything. so i just told them how i want my hair put bak with a ulti maang and tikka in the middle so she fixed that for me. but seriosly it was a disaster. i dont think ill ever go bak there for my ruksati or walima.
so when i got to the nikkah hall, which was at mughal e azam in lahore. i was sitting in the bridal room for a really long time. as u kno nothing goes on time. my make up and hair was done really quickly. so i was sitting in the bridal room for over 3 hours. which is really bad in the summer time especially in pakistan cuz everything started coming off the air conditioning was horrible.
but the good thing was that i had time to fix up my make up i make my lips better and changed the color of my lipstick.
so keep in mind to take some makeup with u keep a few lipsticks with u that u want in ur purse that u would want. so u can tell the person that does ur make up, or if he doesnt listen to u then u can change it later on.
another thing is definitly definitly get a consultation before going. it really sucks in pakistan cuz u cant get a trial. but u should go for a consultation and let them kno wat kind of look u are going for and how u want ur hair and everything.
i got married 2 weeks back.got my make up done by Allenora's and photoshoot from Image Bank..it cost me atotal of 24000 4both and i am sooooooooohappy with the results :)
and yes...dont forget to keep eye-lash glue in your bag on your wedding day ! i had only one thing that went wrong..i wept a lot at intervals before i reached the hall and that made my eye lash loosened up from one end..but thankfully i had close up pics only for the photoshoot and not later.. so that didnt look prominent in the pics
try using surgical glue for your false eyelashes. it keeps them in place all night and even longer! you can buy it from mac. don't waste money on the eye lash glue from drug stores.

I wanted to know,, what is that whole polishing business about? Cuz i heard that they do it. Does it help and what exactly does it do??
Also would really appreciate it if you could tell me, was your mehendi done the same day by AlleNora, I mean did they do your mehendi on your hands the day they did your make up? how long does it take? I have seen some before and after photo's of brides on their website,, was your make up amazing like that????

they do the polishing and massage and evebrows shaping+upper lid threading 1 or 2 days before the wedding..they call it 'services' ..it is included in the package you get for your bridal make up and everyone gets it done.i too was concerned abt it that what if i get a reaction a day b4 my wedding..but everyone i asked told that nothing went wrong with them. and mind it,the ppl there will ask you to get a regenerating facial done..you dont need to go for it..they just want you to pay an extra 800-1000rs for nothing ! i got my whitening facials done a week before the weding and a month before it..and i did regular cleansing and moisturising my skin..so it all went well with this routine and 2 facials..just get your chapstick with you&use it regularly so that you dont have cracked lips at the end.
i LOVED my bridal makeover a lot..thoug it didnt look v.v.v.amazing when i looked it 'live' but pics are awesome and everyone liked it too..both on the baraat day and in pics..they didnt change me much..dont forget to get the base done on your arms..and dont get confused by their system..they have a different setup but you'll love it in the end InshaAllah :) hope you r getting a photoshoot done too ! My wedding is in islamabad, any idea for best saloon to go for bridal make-up, i am really confused as i will travel few days before my wedding to isb.....
go to khawer riaz or at tariq amin's salons..they do have really good female makeup artists too..i dont have their contact nos. though but i know they r really good !

Thanks alot Prototype, Mean alot to me buddy,,,, Just another question if you dont mind... Did Annie do your makeup?, cuz I have heard that she does wonders. Also what about the waxing, do they also do that or do you have to pay them more for it? Also does the polishing or facial whitening make your skin look a few pigments lighter???

i dont know abt the rates..but it must be like others..evry god salon charges b/w 12-16000rs on average..and you can always tell them if you want a traditional or modern make up..
neelam: i booked the signature-line package for myself in which annie does the finishing touches by herself and i paid 4000rs extra for it.normal package was for 12000rs and i paid 16K..annie did the instructions throughout my make over and did the finishing touches.. she charges 30000rs if you want her to do the whole makep by herself ! whitening facial (what different beauticians told me) works good if you take atleast 3-4 sittings in 3 months and it is to be taken 6-8 days before the actual day..i took them too but honestly speaking,i dont have a bad complexion and moreover,for the shadi,we are already taking good care with regular cleansing,scrubbing,masks,(and washing regularly in my case:) cuz i am very lazy ) etc that skin khudi itni achi ho jati hai..simple facials are good to be taken.. i took them from housewife home(shadman) and Muniba's and i liked the first one better.
they charge separately for waxing at allenora. it is not included in the package. i wud suggest to call a waxing wali at home and get ubtan massage done too before your wedding. my waxing wali did it for me.
and yes..polishing does help .. it is not for lightening up the pigments..it is for skin glow.. my sister took a skin glowing facial for my wedding from allenora's and it was really good too

Where should I get my facial whitening from in Pakistan? and how much time before my wedding should I get it?? also plz tell me where I should go for my my mehendi and also did Annie do your make up?????
