I heard New Look Salon is good, you should check it out, its in Hicksville I think, the woman is named Shahida, she's very professional and accomodating.

what is the average price for a trial... im not sure if it was neww look or another lady... one of them is chargin $150 just for a triall.......... i dont know... that seems like a lot..
how much should one pay on ave for a trial... and then for teh actual make up???

sme places will give free trials but only a part of some package... not sure how tha tmakes sense tho..

there's a new look in hicksville..but its the size of my bathroom..i dunno about the rest of you but from experience, i know not to go to a salon thats so tiny..thats a long story but anyway.. Raheela's..definately wouldn't recommend that place..i went to get a facial once and she was on her lunch break..she came and put her hands all over face..and omg..it reeked of biryani..i could smell it from her hands so well..it was so disgusting
and yes her makeup pretty much sucks..my aunt went to her last week..she just got a simple hairdo and party makeup and looked like a BLIND two year old did it..im not even kidding..my aunt is pretty tan..nd she put WHITE powder on her face nd such little and bad eye makeup..it was terrible..and she charged $50 for it!

raheela's only good with dark makeup which looks good on girls with tanned skin and i wouldn't recommend it if anyone's light skinned or else they'll make you look like a pale vampire :@:
i know of my friend's friend got her wedding makeup done from raheela and i was surprised it came out good cause it went with her skintone and the color of her dress
but raheela's commercial is horrible

i'm not really sure of any places but i recently attended a wedding where the bride got her makeup done by raheela... and it wasnt that great at all... I do know a few people that got there makeup done from non-desi places and used MAC mke-up artists and makeup as well as smashbox and a few others and surprisingly they looked very nice, i know pakistanis do it a little different but i thought the brides looked gorgeous . you should at least go for a trial ,

yes like people have said go and get a trial at places like MAC and if anything you can always show them pictures of what you like so they can adjust the look

make up is not a problem, but what if you need to get your hair done and freaking dupatta fixed

Have you tried MAC or even another one. What makeup do you typically wear that suits you? Maybe get a trial done from them. But regardless of who does your makeup, you should know beforehand, exactly what you want, how dark/light..idea of shades of eyeshadow..etc...that way you won't depend totally on the makeup artist. Also even if she whips out white powder, you can demand to be done up closer to your skin tone to look good, rather than ghostly.
