Hey girls, i’ve looked around in this thread for some ideas for beauty parlors or makeup artists in the ny/nj/li areas and I cant seem to get much info. There is a slight difference between Indian makeup and Pakistani makeup so if anyone has any ideas about where I should go, please and thank you in advance!!
I’ve heard of Shehzad in queens, but cant seem to find any contact info.
I know there is a Raheela’s beauty parlor in Brooklyn but am not too fond of the atmosphere.
I do know that makeup artists usually know what they’re doing and i’m looking into that as well, but if anyone can suggest a few they’ve worked with that would be great!
i'm not really sure of any places but i recently attended a wedding where the bride got her makeup done by raheela... and it wasnt that great at all... I do know a few people that got there makeup done from non-desi places and used MAC mke-up artists and makeup as well as smashbox and a few others and surprisingly they looked very nice, i know pakistanis do it a little different but i thought the brides looked gorgeous . you should at least go for a trial ,
there is a salon called Aanchal in Brooklyn and the make up was very good from there. its near Coney Island and Foster give me ur email and I will send you a pic of a person I know that got it done from there.
does anyone else know anyone good for makeup here? I just went to hicksville and was highly disappointed with some of them (the staff as well). Any help would be appreciated!!
ok heres the story my sister got married 3 years ago- me and her were to get our makeup done from her- we heard lots of good comments abt her- just cuz ppl knew her as a good friend and didnt realli look at her work i guess- but wen my sister got her makeup done- i was pretty surprised bc- wen she went for trial it was nice- but wen she got it done for her nikkah day- WOAHHH it was SOOO WHITE!!! liek sumone smeared chalk on her face- so she wasnt satisfied at all and the lady was like woah wat did i do- my sister got realli mad and got it removed and done over(2nd time was nicer)- but i didnt get my makeup done from her- infact i went to another place near there and got my makeup done- and i was satisfied- but speaking from my sisters experience- its just not a good place to go to- i think there are some places in longisland hicksville- ill find out and post it here- but please- i honestly dont recommend raheela beauty parlor in brooklyn unless u wanna look like a ghost!! lol tc Ah

There's a Pakistani lady, very professional and just starting out. I've never gotten makeup done by her, but the usual eyebrows, and cuts and all. I've seen some of her bridal pictures (mainly indian brides), and her work looks good. The name of the salon is Nugo's salon (Tahira is her name). Number is 516-822-2383.
Raheela - I accompanied my friend to the salon for mehndi makeup...the lady is highly unprofessional, and deals with multiple customers at the same time (all bridals) and then it's all rush rush rush. The salon is dirtyyyyyyyyy. Anyway, as for the makeup...the mehndi makeup came out fabulous, but the barat make up was so-so...
Raheela is a witch, sorry to say..I wouldn't even go there for threading or waxing since they dont even have partitions (or dont even use them) so theres no privacy while ur sitting there..
I go to this salon in Brooklyn, its closeby raheelas its called Ammy's, they also do bridal makeup and stuff... i personally dont know hwo much they charge though but its worth checking out eh

Yeah its only two women working there, so u know whos going to be taking care of u each time u go… w/ raheela’s theres like new HS girls every other day and they dont do such a decent job.
