I’m getting married inshAllah in Pakistan and will probably do my own makeup So I need help with shades and colours of makeup that will go my Burgundy Lehnga. I will be taking my own makeup but am not sure where to start!
This is the shade of my dress.
I know I want Burgundy on my eyes and then go light on the lips but I dont want to look bruised. Please suggest what sort of colours I should wear on my lips and cheeks if I have such a dark colour on my eyes. My skin tone is wheatish and I have sort of dark lips.
Is it a good idea to wear 2-3 colour on the eyes? if so what colours will go together?
Also, Im looking for a burgundy eye shadow and I cant find a very good shade.. either I find too blacky purple ones or too light ones… can anyone suggest any brands that I might find this colour?
Sorry about my muddled up post but I’m really stressed out about this
Afaaf, you can always mix colors to create the perfect color! you should get a palette that has a variety of colors, coastal scents palettes are pretty popular for their price and the quality is decent. I own one and would recommend it, i'm sure you'd be able to create a nice burgundy color from those. If not that, then you can always get one from MAC, they have a huge selection or go to Sephora or Ulta and ask the sales associates/
On a side note, I know that is totally your choice, I love doing my own makeup and I think i'm pretty okay at it too, but on my wedding i'm sure i'll be getting it done professionally because there are so many other things you need to worry about, so many extra products you need to use that helps your makeup last all day and look good in pictures (and you don't need to worry about finding the perfect colors!) just a suggestion though, good luck with everything!
Oh another suggestion, you can search for eyemakeup looks on youtube, just type in the colors you're looking for. Most youtuber's tell you which product they've used in the video too which should help.
you should check out letzmakeup on youtube she has lovely smokey eyes using burgundy and all the dark colours and it looks just like pakistani bridal makeup
Since the color of u're wedding outfit is pretty dark, I personally wouldn't use any burgundy on the eyes at all. I'd do bronze and dark browns (socket area) and perhaps a heavy eyeliner.

Totally agree with that. Don't go too matchy-matchy,
Maybe incorporate a burgundy liner under your eyes if you really like it, but if I were you, i'd go with neutral/gold colors.
having said that, you can for example use a gold/bronze colour on your lid, a light brown on the crease to create a contour and put burgundy on the outer corner, I think the eyeshadow "Sketch" from Mac would look nice for that
I like the idea of bronze/gold eyelids too as that will bring out the antique coloured kaam on the dress. Plus I suit wearing dark coloured lipsticks. It's just I'm bored of dark lips.
My dupatta is burgundy and also the upper 3/4 of the lehnga the bottom panel is deep red and the kurti is biege/nude colour .... So I suppose I could go with reddish lips too .. no?
It would be soo much easier to get a makeup artist but I live in a samller city in pak so I'm finding it difficult to trust any MUA there. Thankfully Walima will be in Lahore so that wont be too much of a problem! :)
I will visit the good salons in Sahiwal though and get trials done but I'm not relying on them completely, If I need to do it myself at least I have the makeup with me to do it!

That sounds really lovely..I have seen that colour in Mac and its beautiful but doesnt match exactly... but I suppose you are right..maybe I am being too matchy about everything so I will try it our and see :)
What about the inner corners of the eyes would that area need a different colour to highlight. Sorry I'm a complete novice!
Glad you liked the idea, i totally get what you mean, I'm probably gonna get married in Pakistan but I'm too scared of the MUAs there, i know some are very good but still, i'd be more comfortable to do my own make up. this is why i've been experimenting a lot with make up for the last months, to really figure out what looks best on me and what doesn't, what foundation is suitable for my skin type etc...
For the inner corners and highlights, i'd go with a light gold too, but a subtle one, nothing glittery or shimmery, just something that has a nice sheen. If you don't want gold, Crystal Avalanche eyeshadow by Mac is a white/silver color that looks amazing as a highlight.
As for lips, I decided I wanted a rose colour for me because I don't want dark or red lips, and rose looks more natural, if you're fair, check out something like Mystery by Mac and if you are more wheatish or want something a bit darker, Captive by Mac is a nice cranberry/rosy color.
Since u say u’re dupatta is also that dark burgundy and it’ll be close to u’re face… i’d say do something like the picture i’ve posted and u could do both beige/gold lips or dark.
