Bridal Makeup look for Burgundy Lehnga

Re: Bridal Makeup look for Burgundy Lehnga

^Awww let us know how it turns out! :)

Re: Bridal Makeup look for Burgundy Lehnga

Here are the pics from the MAC makeup trial, she took inspiration from the one Marwah posted but didnt copy exactly. It turned out quite well MashAllah! Loved the lip colour and also liked the eye makeup. She used the purple sketch shade

I wasn’t too keen on the lower lashline makeup.. doesnt look too bad in the pic but in real life my eyes looked extra big and I already have big eyes! I think she should have copied it as in the picture with the gold and more purplish colour rather than black and then gone white in the waterline..what do you girls think? My mum thought it didnt look bridal and that I could get away with a little heavier but I am not so sure..

Re: Bridal Makeup look for Burgundy Lehnga

oh wow!

I think it looks really nice, your skin looks glowing and i love the eye makeup and big eyes are beautiful.

However I think to make it look a bit more bridal you could for a deeper lip colour maybe and a little more colour on the cheeks?

Re: Bridal Makeup look for Burgundy Lehnga

Mums always say that !! yah i also think that the lower lash line could be less heavy because it ages you and can make you look tired. tell her to do a more dramatic line on the upper lash line maybe ? i feel like it's not bridal-ish enough lol, like you know, i'd do it more winged out and cat-eyed, and it would give a nicer definition to your eyes.

other than that, i think it's pretty, and the lips looks very nice too, you still look like yourself and you're very pretty M'A !

Re: Bridal Makeup look for Burgundy Lehnga

Afaaf, you have very pretty features Mashallah. I think they did a good job, but if I went there, i'd ask them to kindly stick to the picture I'M showing them. You are the client and should get the makeup you want done. I agree, I think a little gold brought down to your lower lash line would have been more interesting looking, and she brought the burgundy color to half of your lid whereas in the original picture it mainly just on the crease which I think looks more flattering.

Re: Bridal Makeup look for Burgundy Lehnga

I dunno I think its too light
and is that really the lipcolor for the wedding or are your lips just totally bare?

Re: Bridal Makeup look for Burgundy Lehnga

Hmm yes, I suppose I could do a little more colour on the lips but I have to keep in mind the colours on my Lehnga and therefore keep it subtle.

She should have gone heavier on the upper lash line ..I did mention to her once but she just ignored me.. so I stayed mumm and I think cat eye-d look would have done the trick... I liked the lip colour too as I'm used to having darker lips all the time because my natural lip colour is brown so I loved the soft pink lips.

I think she sort of figured out that I have no idea about makeup so was a little pushy.. I find it hard to refuse people.. which is not good ! :( Anyway I will practice the look in the picture with my sis because I want her to do my makeup if I dont find a good MUA in Sahiwal..The last one quoted me 35,000 rs :S which I think is expensive!

You are right about the burgundy colour definately looks a lot more flattering in the original pics.

No my lips are a brown colour ..she used a nudish colour lipstick.. I think if the eyes have the right amount of drama ..the lips would need to be light?

Thanks for the feedback girls! you are all soo sweet :)

Re: Bridal Makeup look for Burgundy Lehnga

I like the lips and the cheeks. The only thing I'd change, as has been mentioned is to make the upper lashline thicker. The bottom is fine, you need it to be heavy or it won't show up in pics. Your mum might try and make you wear a darker lipstick at the last min, don't let her! You will have to make the blush darker as well and it will throw the look. I think it looks really pretty at the moment, so you have to choose whether you want that or to look bolder which will take the focus off your lovely eyes too.

I did my cousin's makeup in Pak too. We had the same problem and she gave in to her mum. IMO she looked much better after the trial we did here where the lips and cheeks were softer.

Re: Bridal Makeup look for Burgundy Lehnga

wow !! afaaf MASHALLAH
i love ur lip color

Re: Bridal Makeup look for Burgundy Lehnga

I really like the eye makeup but I agree that the eyeliner needs to be more dramatic to enhance your eyes further..
And I like the black eyeliner under the eyes it helps to define them and will look great in pics.
I know you want to keep the lips light but how about a shade or two darker?

Re: Bridal Makeup look for Burgundy Lehnga

Afaaf, I don't think TOO much needs to be changed. I suggest the liner on the upper lash line be a little thicker, and wing it out a bit. You could also bring down some of the gold eyeshadow to the lower lash line or the tear duct atleast. I like soft nude lips, but I have to agree with Sara on this, when I looked at the pic the second time, it almost looks like there is no lipstick on it. Maybe you could make the lips a TAD bit pinker? or try adding some gloss. You know what I suggest. You're not going to have MAC makeup artists to do your makeup in Sahiwal, if you're sister is the one whose going to do it, get her to do a trial on you, and take pictures of your face and see how it looks from far...and see what looks good and what needs to be worked on

Re: Bridal Makeup look for Burgundy Lehnga

just watch the gallery in my website you will have some idea. i will prefer to use charcoal black in that case and some sheer glossy colours on lips of neutral family. www.zaibbeautylines.com

Re: Bridal Makeup look for Burgundy Lehnga

I tried the look on myself! it was so pretty, I was tempted. Here are the pics:

Re: Bridal Makeup look for Burgundy Lehnga

Also, if possible, you should do your trial/practice makeup with the duputta and at least some of the jewelry so that you can see how it will all come togehter...all too often, what looks "heavy" on a normal face will look washed out and bland when coupled with jewelry and heavy clothes...the makeup isn't competing with those thigns but rather complementing an otherwise heavy jora/jewelry.

Lovely ")

Re: Bridal Makeup look for Burgundy Lehnga

Looks absolutely beautiful Marwah! and you’ve stayed true to the original and it definately looks a lot more flattering!
I can’t wait till my sisters exams are over next week…then we will have time to practice this look. btw, You are skilled mashAllah… wish I could take you with me!

Re: Bridal Makeup look for Burgundy Lehnga

yeah thats a good point... When I came home.. I wrapped my dupatta on loosely just to see... and it did look good.. didnt feel that heavy with it on but I'm going to try the original version just to see which one suits better on me. It's really important that my makeup doesnt make me look like a different person.. there are brides I've seen who have lovely makeup done but they look completely different! almost unrecognisable.

Re: Bridal Makeup look for Burgundy Lehnga

If you were getting married anywhere near me I would have loved to do your makeup! Post pictures of the trial makeup once your sister does it! :) There's a youtube tutorial for this look, let me know if you want it.
