i got my sets from lahore - i did a 'pit stop' in dubai when i went on my honeymoon - and didnt find anything that was breathtaking - i saw lots more fabulous designs in pak!
Re: Gold souk... Dubai..
I agree with Gina and Silsila, design wise, there are much better pieces to be found in Pakistan, IF you can trust the jeweller. Otherwise the quality of Gold is guaranteed in Dubai. Trust v Design.
Loads of nice white gold there, though!
If u want pretty/dainty stuff.. and small pieces of jewellery u can fin lots of nice stuff..for everyday wear.
I'm not a fan of the gaudy yellow gold and Bahraini designs.. I'd still say buy u're jewellery from Pakistan..they have great designs!
i agree !!!! pakistani jewellery is far better than Middle east
Re: Gold souk... Dubai..
The Gold Souk in Dubai is great for diamonds. The gold jewely there is very big, bulky, typical arab jewelry. I was in Dubai a couple of years ago and bought my mum a small diamond pendant/earring/ring set - it's stunning.
Go to the Meena Bazaar in Dubai for gold jewlery. The designs there are more asian. I bought an antique looking karra from there. I got it for £600 at the time and when I got back I took it to Ram Parkash in Southall and they valued it at £900.
Re: Gold souk... Dubai..
Oh really?! from 600 to 900?? wow... nice!
Re: Gold souk... Dubai..

Re: Gold in Dubai..
dubai gold is ugly :(
Re: Gold in Dubai..
i've heard dubai is best for polki and kundan, but if you want traditional gold jewelery, Pakistan is better.
Dubai has nice pure gold.. the Bahraini designs are horrible. I'm not a fan of Indian designs either.. I prefer very delicate designs..and for that Pakistan is the best!
Re: Gold in Dubai..
I will come in and give my positive reviews when all the negativity subsides:chai:
Re: Gold in Dubai..
Dear Shona
There is the gold souk in Bur Dubai- its ok but has a mix of arab shops and then the typical desi places- hindu and Pakistani jewellers- you have to barter as they do like everywhere else, try and rip u off- the festival city mall has a blue gold souk- very plastic fantastic- all for display and very expensive- however in the Blue souq in Sharjah are again , desi jewellers ....The best gold ive seen in terms of churiya, karay and sets has to be The Uk or Karachi.....Gold is expensive .. invest in diamonds- theyre a girls best freind... good luck!
Re: Gold in Dubai..
Apart from gold souks there are many shops which sell excellent gold. There are shops in meena bazaar in cosmos lane, there are shops in naif souk. If you do not want to buy it expensively the only answer is to NOT buy it from expensive places. Buy gold from rashidiya it is amazing plus you can bargain with the indians to bring it soooo low.
Re: Gold in Dubai..
Hi AD!!! Hope ur fever has calmed down!!! Where in Rashidiya is there Gold? Thats near the sirport right- near Bin Sougat centre???
Re: Gold in Dubai..
I think so, I am using hair dryer at my head. I was feeling cold. LOL Bin Sougat centre is in the area called Rashidiya:cb:There are shops in Bin Sougat centre plus shops in the centre joined to the Union Co-Operative Society in Rashidiya.
Re: Gold in Dubai..
Hi hun but isthat where ur suggesting u buy gold??? What u doing that for?? Just wear a woolly hat!!!
Re: Gold in Dubai..
Hehe not really. We mostly get our gold from ARY, Damas, Kanwar Jewellery, Pure Gold, Tanishq, Haseena etc but I know about all the gold places because my mom goes to the people in Rashidiya to sell gold and update it or for repair. They give you more price for your gold than all the big names, they repair gold for less and also they have good collection at very reasonable prices.
I do not have a wolly hat:blush:
Re: Gold in Dubai..
