Man I really wish I would have done that. But mom just wouldn't hear it.
I'm doing that! I'm not a big fan of gold. For my engagement, I got a silver gold plated set that matched with my clothes, everyone thought it was real.
The thing with gold sets are that you cant wear them all the time cause they may not match your clothes...I rather buy a diamond ring or studs.....
^ true dat…i guess…it really depends though on ones lifestyle, i think it’ll be yearssssss before i get a chance to wear everything til it’s “played” out (yes thats how dead my desi social life is ).. i think a happy compromise is to have a few simple “everyday” pieces that u can wear…everyday lol… in real gold.. and go artificial for the big fun party/wedding stuff
I dont even think bride's now a days even wear real jewelry on their wedding days. They'll usually get silver gold plated jewlery.
yeah, lots more brides are doing that.... and i completely understand why... its not like we wear heavy sets on day to day basis... it just sits in the bank/locker for the rest of time
but a lot of brides still are getting the real stuff, no matter how expensive...its because if the parents really can afford it they usually push the girls to get the set in real gold...the whole cultural/traditional stuff associated with gold is still there even in this day and age, and parents normally dont give in...
Now when i look back...I dont regret getting the real thing for my wedding though... i have amazing heavy sets, with lots and lots of real rubies, gems, and stones in them....the sets match with multiple outfits and give completely different looks with different colours, you can mix and match, sometimes u can just wear the long dangling earings or jhumkay with plain suit or something and it looks so classy (so u dont have to wait for a big event like a family wedding to make use of your set).....
I am glad that i have the real authentic traditional looking stuff, and because its real gold it can be cherished forever, and who knows may even be enjoyed by my daughters... my designs are very traditional, so they will be never out of fashion and will come back in trend again again
how old are you........look a bit old in the pics or it could be the make up, looks heavy or was that the look u wanted?
What a nasty thing to say. As tho you can't say anything nice therefore it has to be that. I think pakifairy looks amazing. Her outfits, jewellery and makeup are all perfectly coordinated. And that should be complimented.
you look stunnning pakifairy, you make a gorgeous couple too mashalla :) congrats.
also can i ask where you got your jewelery from? i love the long pendant, def the kind of look i want to go for when i get married, abs stunning.
I love how this is supposed to be a forum where you can freely discuss your opinions but the minute someone says something you dislike, people are so quick to jump that person. I am not taking sides since none of this is of much concern to me, but to be perfectly honest, why don't you guys give PF a chance to defend herself on her own if she so wishes to. I don't see her ranting about it.
Practice some tolerance people. Seriously.
Peace out.
hi! omg guys dont worry im sure that person is trying to start trouble, looking at their history they just joined and that was their first post. i reported it already so im sure a mod will take it down.
i really am not bothered, in fact im flattered whoever wrote it must have been itching with jealousy to create an account just to write that lol.
ohh i got the pendant and the whole set at chotanis in karachi. i love their stuff. my valima set was also from chotanis.
