Bridal dress dilemma - Which one???

Re: Bridal dress dilemma - Which one???

hmmm think Bunto would suit ur sis in law as well.....her features and stature scream a FARSHI GHARARA....!

Re: Bridal dress dilemma - Which one???

BlushingRose - are you sure you're not Bunto Kazmi?? lol !

Re: Bridal dress dilemma - Which one???

hehehhehhehheeh the thing is she is my dream designer-------Ive wanted her wedding dress since I was a teenager lolz..........hmmm second to her think I like Nilofer Shahid

Plus, Im weird I look at the desiger and how they carry themselves--shez very graceful--whereas to me HSY and Maheen look kinda "mehlay"---ooo I know that doesnt sound nice--but I just dont like the way they carry themselves......lol

Re: Bridal dress dilemma - Which one???

Bunto...!! its perfect for the dulhan!!!

Re: Bridal dress dilemma - Which one???

Ziggy...lets confuse u further..how did u find that Nilofer Shahid outfit--the one that Rbia (from Rabia and Omar's wedding) wore....it was also a farshi gharara, with elaborate embroidery, very elegant and traditional............?????????? the colors were more "antique"

Re: Bridal dress dilemma - Which one???

^ not that it matters in this case, but I did not like rabia's outfit at all. Her jewelry was gorgeous but the outfit, nope.

ziggy lemme sign up and vote for Umar Saeed with a lot of multi's :D

Re: Bridal dress dilemma - Which one???

Ok girls, here's the count so far...if i'm correct and can count :) we have:

12 for Umar Sayeed

7 for Bunto

It's not exactly neck and neck so come on people...let's keep them coming

p.s. no cheating by placing your preference twice on the thread! :)

Re: Bridal dress dilemma - Which one???

ziggy...why dont you have her do two different looks...!
traditional one day..modern/contemporary the next....your dilemma solved!!

Ziggy...I can't even believe you are in this dilema!!! I mean...following all your posts for the past few months...I would't think you'd want anything BUT timeless elegance. And I totally think this will suit your bhabhi more than the Umar Sayeed one.

The thing is...when I first saw the Umar Sayeed outfit on a model..I thouht it was beautiful! BUT...then I saw it on Bushra Ansari's daughter...and OMG...very blah and kind of dull! Bushra Ansari wore a similar sari to lUX style awards and I though that looked better...but I read bad reviews about her outfit! It's not very bridal looking to me...not for teh shaadi at least.

NOW...as someone else suggested...do thw Bunto outfit for the shaadi and this for the valima but in a different colour. OR ...if you plan on getting any more formals for your bhabhi...you can get this in a sari. There is a very nice colour combo for a similar design on Bargello. It's a beige/gold sari. Hope you can find it. It has a funky blouse...I don't know how your family feels about that...but the rest is nice.

I hope BlusingRose and I can convince you!!! We love Bunto!

Re: Bridal dress dilemma - Which one???

i'm convinced blushing rose IS bunto :p

zigs, lady, go with your first choice, follow your gut and stick to the choice you made. you saw other designers initially too, right? and from them you chose bunto. don't let the umar sayeed outfit sway you- if theres one thing i've learned, its to trust my instincts and not second guess myself. i dont know who said this but i agree- im not a HUGE fan of the bunto colors.. its very mehendi and not quite wedding. so since you love the gold and other colors on the umar outfit, why don't you get the bunto outfit made in those colors? also remember, you should see this outfit in person... photography can be a very tricksy thing and i bet you they've manipulated it and edited it after so for all you know, what you're seeing as gold might be a "fakhtai" purplish color instead.

But despite that, you seem disappointed, which implies you sort of prefer the Bunto...

Chanda - The thing is that it's a pathan wedding and traditionaly you only have the main wedding day so it's kind of the reason I got stuck. They have like a 3rd day where the bride's family will visit the bride at her in laws, but it's more low key..hmmmm

What I meant to say was that the choice is proving to be tough (ie what to do) - I guess the only concern I would have is that I won't have seen the Umar Sayeed outfit up close, but it looks gorgeous in the pic.

I've actually seen the Bunto outfit, which really gave me an idea of what to expect, so I guess we really need to think...

Re: Bridal dress dilemma - Which one???

SGC - it makes perfect sense to me when you say that I should stick to my gut instinct, but what can I say, I can't help it !

I guess you're right about the actual colour of the Umar Sayeed outfit - it could be the same one used for the bride in the Bushra Ansari wedding and I REALLY don't like that colour.

I love the colours in Bunto outfit since we all requested - including the bride - colours which would be bright and these fabrics just stood out from the rest

I guess I need to re-evaluate...

Re: Bridal dress dilemma - Which one???

is there any way you could see the umar outfit in person? i guess not, eh? you're back from pakistan?

Re: Bridal dress dilemma - Which one???

actually, i think bushra ansari’s daughter’s dress seems to be based off this umar sayeed sari… and not the lehenga in question…
or am i completely off base?

Re: Bridal dress dilemma - Which one???

^ i like the bunto one....umar syed's outfit is quite ordinary...
ziggy if your bhabhi is getting ONE day...give her BUNTO.. :)

I went to see Umar Sayeed, but I didn’t see this outfit or any thing like it. I came back from Pakistan like 2 months ago, but I wish I could have asked him about the outfit now :frowning:

I think the Bushra Ansari Sari looks better in terms of colour and kaam:

Do you see the similarities?

This is the sari I was talking about. I saw a picture of the back of the blouse…I just can’t find it now. It’s very cute. It’s got 2 straps that you tie into a bow.

The design idea is similar to the lehnga Ziggy is debating over…the colours are different.
