Bridal dress dilemma - Which one???

Re: Bridal dress dilemma - Which one???

^ziggy!! honestly...I prefer the peach&green combo!! it looks decent....without the color overload....an outfit looks very different laying on the bed...and when you try it on....thats when you really know....so if i were to pick the colors...those two will be my definite preference!!!!

Re: Bridal dress dilemma - Which one???

Thanks Chanda - I can see how the peach & green combo would look pretty decent...the thing is that I love the magenta in the pallete but wasn't sure about the green in the outfit initially...strange hey! :)

Re: Bridal dress dilemma - Which one???

:) also...i do think having a different material than the rest of the outfit for the part below the gotte will look beautiful....not sure if that makes sense.............

about the magenta....its very overpowering...f you want contrast....stick with two colors...since peach against green..is ALREADY a contrast... :)

Re: Bridal dress dilemma - Which one???

The second one!!

Re: Bridal dress dilemma - Which one???

Chanda - I think I get what you mean...like a fabric of different texture instead of the silk banarasi and net?

Re: Bridal dress dilemma - Which one???

hmmmm abt the colors...i remember SGC once put a pic of her friend in a Bunto outfit and it was also a farshi gharara--colors were deep gold, brown and magenta! Now I know wht u r thinking---the same thing I would upon hearding this combination---magenta doesnt fit into all of it.....but u know that bright, out-of place color--brought the whole thing together and give it flow!

wouldnt the green just be a part of the gote??????

like the green might sound odd with the peach and pink--but im sure it will come out pretty.....! can u get a more subtle green--like sage?????? my FAVORITE color is pink and paired with peach--it does look bright---but certain ppl carry it well....actually I have a simple silk shalwaar camiz of these two colors and it looks very pretty and ive gotten lots of compliments on it.....

think you and ur bhabi should sit together and decide now.....:):) wht look is she aiming for???? wht sort of things appeal to her?????

there's this other umar sayeed on facebook-----think its sea green--I prefer that kaam...how did u find it?

Re: Bridal dress dilemma - Which one???

I would make the magenta and one of the other colors more dominant, and then use the third as an accent. The magenta should definitely be one of the main colors. It will make the others look "peeka" as an accent, I worry.

BlushingRose - I’ve got samples of the fabrics on me and sometime find it hard to believe they will go together and I pressed Bunto on this matter, but she’s convinced the colours will work very well on my bhaabi. I’ve shown her photographs of my bhaabi with and without makeup, but she sounded set on the idea of the colours we chose…

The green is just supposed to be the border at the bottom of the gharara beneath the gote

The other Umar Sayeed outfit - were these the colours because I really like them here as well

Girls, what do you think???

The majenta is dominant in that it's used for the duppata and the gharara. The green fabric is for the border at the bottom of the gharara, beneath the gote. The shirt will remain as is.

Re: Bridal dress dilemma - Which one???

Sounds pretty :D

Re: Bridal dress dilemma - Which one???

ok wait, i get it. it sounds lovely! i think the green is so vibrant, its perfect to have just a slight hint of it since the magenta and peach are bright enough on their own.

and yes like BR said, my friend was horrified when she heard bunto had chosen gold, maroon and shocking pink as her combo, but she trusted her, and frankly, the shocking pink was the shaan of her gharara.
here are her pics…

exactly!

Re: Bridal dress dilemma - Which one???

or you could do above the gote in magenta jamavar for instance. and the bottom of the gote in magenta high quality net that you said bunto suggested with kaam on it, and layered over the same jamavar as above the gote. although the gote is so low on a farshi, i dont know if net would work... hrm.

Re: Bridal dress dilemma - Which one???

This is what i would do
shirt--peach with magenta/green accents
gharara--peach with green gotte and subtle magenta accents
dupatta--peach(major) with magenta accents and very minor green accents....
now if you could do a rough draft outfit using tester fabrics..you could get an idea...

Re: Bridal dress dilemma - Which one???

ziggy yours sounds really good too!

Re: Bridal dress dilemma - Which one???

SGC - thanks for the pics...she look's beautiful in that outfit :)

That shocking pink border is quite thin compared to the one she plans to use on our outfit. Basically take the green fabric and substitute it with the bright pink fabric used at the bottom of the gharara in the original design...do you see what I mean now?

umar sayeed, BUT change the colors to something more vibrant.

Re: Bridal dress dilemma - Which one???

SGC -- your friend looks lovely, mashAllah, and you're right, that pink makes a world of difference.

yum yum...that sounds pretty gorgeous to me!

Re: Bridal dress dilemma - Which one???

zig, you know what, looking at it again- the outfit is stunning as is- why not keep it this way? i'd just change the light pink to a magenta on the edges of the dupatta/gharara/shirt as in the picture you posted, and keep everything else the same. lose the green entirely.
