Breastfeeding

OKay.. i have nothing against it.. i think its a personal choice that every mother has to make whether she wants to or not and it’s nobody’s business.

But uhm…tell me.. if this is taking a tad too far? :halo:

Re: Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding is good and recommended if you are able to breast feed. It is important to breast feed for the first 6 months at least. Most people breast feed for 12-24 months. It is stated that in some societies breast feeding continues a bit longer. The trend nowadays is for women to bottle feed, however health workers still recommend breast feeding. In this case I think the women should encourage the girls to be independent of her.

Re: Breastfeeding

i have seen this before and it's disturbing. I think the mother has psychological issues. poor kids :(

According to Islam, it's good to breastfeed up til 2 yrs. There is a reason for this!!!

Re: Breastfeeding

I dont know what to say.I have read about this but..thats about it.I dont think this is practiced a lot in societies now.
For us Muslims following what has been said in Islamic teachings should suffice and is considered best for the babies.

Re: Breastfeeding

breastfeeding is also easier than bottlefeeding and helps mothers in losing weight gained during pregnancy.

Re: Breastfeeding

Let me clarify again: this is not about the benefits of breastfeeding. Breastfeeding itself is not disgusting or disturbing, so can we leave this debate alone? This is about eight year olds still being fed and the possible health/psychological repercussions this can have.

Re: Breastfeeding

i think its a cultural thing....in some cultures they do weird things like cooking and eating placenta etc....so let it go.

Re: Breastfeeding

astagfiruAllah in which culture do dey eat placenta?

Re: Breastfeeding

In some parts of South America I think.

Re: Breastfeeding

This isn't about her culture at all.

Re: Breastfeeding

good for her.. daughters in her case, not boys

Re: Breastfeeding

poor girls on tv and stuff, I wonder if they could ever find a boy wants to around them.
Never mind marrying them.

Re: Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding also had emotional benefits, its an opportunity for the baby and mother to bond and get better acquainted with each other. I guess in this case the woman has not been able to let go.

Re: Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding is not the only way to bond with the baby...a mother can very well bond with her baby while bottlefeeding as well.

In this case...the mother is just seriously disturbed. So strange...it's usually the baby that cant let go not the other way around.

Re: Breastfeeding

This is extremely sick!!

Re: Breastfeeding

True it is not the only way to bond, but its a better way to bond than by bottle feeding.

Besides bonding there are nutritional and immunilogic advantages as well.
