Breastfeeding

Re: Breastfeeding

^... in that case, r u really looking at the SIZE of the baby?

Re: Breastfeeding

Arshad you've completely missed the point of this thread.

Re: Breastfeeding

Sara I don't think I have missed the point of this thread with due respect.

I wrote "In this case I think the women should encourage the girls to be independent of her." "I guess in this case the woman has not been able to let go." I agree its not the convention to breast feed children when they are as old as 8 or whatever it was. However I am not going to judge the woman like you are trying to do. I have taken advantage of your thread to point out the advantages of breastfeeding in general and I think you are confusing the two issues. This is a health and fitness forum and we discuss, share, inform and educate each other. We don't judge other people or at least that is what I think this forum is all about. So forgive me if I have tried to do that insteading of judging the women in question.

Re: Breastfeeding

What's disturbing is when the mother described how her daughters touch it, etc etc everyday in the mornings 'as if they own it' and then even draw and name it. They sound like they are obsessed with it! I wouldn't be surprised if her daughters grow up to swing the other way.

Re: Breastfeeding

Correcto!

The baby needs nutrition which mother's milk has within it. And yes more than just calcium. After the initial stage of infancy (2yr max usually), the baby can digest and utilize other milk and nutritions such as soft foods, etc.

Re: Breastfeeding

even a 2 year old is a bit too old for breastfeeding

Yea this is the most disturbing video i've ever seen. I agree with shay, it was so weird when she was talking about that stuff about her daughters touching and naming....what's up with that??

Re: Breastfeeding

ps: I didn’t see the video :halo:

Re: Breastfeeding

i think its more the case of incest than mother-daughter-bond. :chai:

Re: Breastfeeding

^I think so too...the mother needs to see a psychiatrist

Re: Breastfeeding

I don't think it's a case of the mother doing it as a "fetish". Yuck....

It is a psychological issue; however, some mothers get carried away and do it longer than it's meant to be done for a number of reasons ranging from the ultra-bond, to feeling the need to continue doing it simply because they don't realize the baby has moved from the breastfeeding stage and can now consume other foods, nutritions. And therefore, should be allowed to feed other ways.

Re: Breastfeeding

i agree…i dont think it’s a fetish either. Regardless, the mother has serious issues. Any normal mother would know that it’s just not right to go beyond a certain age (age of 2). After the age of 2 the child can remember things :bummer:

The American Pediatric Association recommends breastfeeding up til age 1…correct me if I am wrong mothers. Beyond that…there is really no nutritional reason to breastfeed a child.

Re: Breastfeeding

This was not a woman who was minding her own business or confided in someone about this and then betrayed... she was interviewed on a documentary or a news show (presuming) and showed her lifestyle to the entire world.

Re: Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding is good, no doubt but this is outright Gross!!

Re: Breastfeeding

I think the problem is the thread title, which suggests a more general discussion.

Re: Breastfeeding

oh this is too much, the mom cannot let go!
i feel so yuck looking that the big child drinking from the mom .. thats not the point of breastfeeding, its there for babies, as soon as a kid can eat normal meals, thats mostly around the ago of 12-18 months, its not really necessary anymore.

Re: Breastfeeding

I saw this yesterday on you tube. Well to be honest I am not groosed out like many who think it is disturbing. I do think however that the mother seems to have attachment and image issue and not able to let go. Same as westerns see us pakistani living with parents all of our lives as wierd. I think all these offenses are due to the fact that it is out of the norm . We do not see putting silicone inside the body to make boobs bigger is wierd coz it is accepted in the society now. Any way the kid comments about mango and million melons are halarious.

Re: Breastfeeding

Its true that breastfeeding is not the only way to bond with the baby but recently I found out in Steve Biddulph's Raising Boys that " Her own hormones[especially prolactin-- released into her bloodstream as she breastfeeds] prime her to want to with her child and to give it her full attention".

Re: Breastfeeding

this is disturbing....when i watched the video the first things came into my mind were ''incest and lesbianism''.....yuck!!!!

Re: Breastfeeding

First thing came to my mind was a Cow.
