how do you know any of those are good or bad decisions?
I am very blessed to have very understanding parents mashallah and wanted to share a very important lesson i learnt from them :
most parents do not believe in talking and explaining complicated matters to their kids ... even if they say they are talking , they are actually yelling at the kids to follow their decisions ..
my parents have always sat with me and gone through the positives and negatives of all the decisions i made in my life ... no matter how insignificant the decisions were ...
as a result when the time came for me to choose my life partner , my parents introduced a few families and we would sit and talk it through ..we would disagree on several fronts but eventually reached a middle point where they are happy and so am i ...
I think msot parents do not understand that their child is no longer a child and a grown individual who has his /her own mind ... if parents understand this bit and try to incorporate their kid's mindset in their own values ... a problem will be solved and kids wont rebel anymore.
