Think with a criminal mind set.. if you wanted to kill or shoot up a study hall, would you go where there is a ban on public ownership of guns or where people own guns and carry concealed weapons?
If you are a robber and want to rob someone's home, would you go in a home whose owner has a gun or that which does not?
And who's to say people don't already have guns at home? Public places is a different issue. Because Public places are not your or my domain. Everyone shares the public space so people that don't want a gun (majority) are more likely to be heard on this issue.
It's when they end up where they don't belong that creates a problem. Home is fine. No one has an issue with that.
No my dear friend, when u shoot someone in the arm, that person loses the ability to shoot, let alone hold a gun.
and yes 007 is not real, neither is Superman :)
Gotta go now...but seriously! I mean C'moooooooooooooooon!
:D
Yeah, come on. Self Defense.
You rely on big brother to protect you, make you feel your protected but not fight your self for protection of your self, your family and loved ones. Very manly.
Since gun laws are already strict, where could he get it?
Which country are you referring to?
I'll make It simple:

ProtestEasyGuns.com is a grassroots protest movement that emerged last year in
response to the deadliest shooting rampage in U.S. history at Virginia Tech. Supporters are outraged at how easy it is to obtain a gun in the United States
and believe it is time to change lax U.S. gun laws that allow criminals easy
access to guns. Each of the protests includes about 32 individuals
(symbolizing the number of students and teachers murdered at Virginia Tech).

Who said "every student" should carry a gun? Allow people to carry concealed weapons with concealed weapons permit to carry a gun... those who wish to should be able to, those who are not comfortable with guns do not have to.
Ok, and how can you be so sure that non of those "who wish to carry a weapon" is not one of those who is finally going to massacre another 15-20 ppl?

Strict laws will not prevent criminals from getting guns, period. Cracking down will only do what cracking down on drugs does... its like water in a baloon, you push one end, it comes out the other. It doesn't work.
So any country with strict gun laws (more strict than the States) has failed to understand the necessity to protect his/her citizen by a gun?! Therefore we see hardly any killings in other country, but most in America?
Hmmm interesting logic.
Yeah, thats what Prophet (pbuh) did when he went to fight… right? NO need for swords, horses and camels, everyone just recite dua-e-safar and we will be okay. Leave your weapons at home, we won’t need them. We have dua-e-safar.
It’s like these idiots today who think they can fight F-16s with AK-47s… since when did we started producing dumb hotheads like those?
The police have reported that the student had stopped taking his medications and had become erratic" and that Two of the weapons were purchased legally less than a week ago, authorities said.
Guns need to be kept out of people who have mental problems. The one side says we should allow certain medical records to be used in gun backround checks to stop such people from buying guns while the other side says allowing medical records to be checked would stop some peopel from getting mental help as they know it could prevent them from buying a gun.
About arming everyone, these incidents are infrequent for the most part and it would be interesting to see the stats on accidential shootings in states where gun control laws are loose verse where they are tough. Also the thought of having a lot of people with guns in traffic is scary, takes road rage to a new level.
WOULD YOU GO INTO A PLACE TO KILL/SHOOT PEOPLE IF YOU KNEW THAT SUCH PLACE MIGHT HAVE PEOPLE WITH GUNS and CONCEALED WEAPONS???
if the person going in to shoot had a deathwish like this dude or the dude at Va tech did, it would not matter, because he will still have element of surprise and shoot up a few ppl and then be shot himself.
The dude shot himself, do u think he would have been scared to do what he did if he knew ppl inthe classroom had guns?
I am not saying that guns need to be outlawed but we need better regulation, checks, close loopholes and have safety features.
I am all for guns with chips that render them useless in public places. ppl can use them for hunting or play shoot em up in their home.
But the challenge is for ppl to think and realize that we need better gun safety in who gets it, who uses it, how it is used. we already have technology that can prevent unauthorized ppl from using the weapon, we can also have technology that prevents the weapons to be used in certain areas.
would people find a way around it if they really wanted to, probably. but there is noreason we should nto be thinking about it.
from 1891 to Feb 2008…22 Primary schools were attacked … **10 **Primary Schools were in USA

Only 4 incidents in the UK with 19 casualities since 1995…why can’t US Gov make same law as Britain has that is banning of handguns in the UK with the Firearms (Amendment) (No. 2) Act 1997.
