Oh, such a tragedy. These shootings are becoming more commonplace now. Even the public malls, fairly big outlets with security cameras and bodyguards deposited everywhere, anything that comes close to being qualified as public property is not safe by any means. It is that fear which gets into people when they experience such things in-person, and it is hard to eliminate that fear factor from within. I am still terrified of going into places and shop for things, but that should not stop anyone from doing anything they like or they need. Everything happens for a reason, and all our future events are already planned out by the Higher Authority, we just live it long enough to experience it. If it is written out, it will happen.
Sad news, really.

Yeah what the hell is wrong with these people? Guns on campus??!?!?! Recently there was a shooting at Louisiana Tech where a girl shot 2 other girls and then killed herself. No one else in the room was threatened/injured. And now this. This has got to stop.

I understand that people panic when incidents like this take place but how come whenever these shootings take place, no body tries to subdue the shooter? I mean, you are going to get injured or killed when you are running while being shot at so why not run towards the guy who is shooting and take 'em down and save other people from getting hurt as well?

Strict gun laws??? Are you out of your mind?
We should make it EASY for NORMAL people to carry guns... if those 19 people that were injured and 5 that were killed had a GUN, they would have shot this SOB when he started shooting!
When you make gun laws STRICT, you make it HARD for law abiding citizens to carry weapons for their protection while CRIMINALS can get guns from black market very easily. Once the criminals know that people might have guns, they will think twice before opening fire at public places.

What if someone comes to school high and is hearing or seeing stuff?
What about influence of other drugs?
I think it's easier said than done. I wouldn't feel safe in a room full of loaded guns..u never know who might be having a bad day.

Not everybody is going to get one... those who get gun licenses and buy guns, would also take training courses and learn how to shoot. It is, after all, for their protection. If they feel threatened, they should be able to shoot.
After the VA Tech shooting, I am also trying to get a license to carry a hand gun, it is necessary these days.

Well, you don’t become a suspect. The good guys NEED to carry guns otherwise these retards and those suffering from acute stress/depression will one day pick up guns (as it is happening now, more often) and go in their own colleges and libraries and start shooting up people. When people do not arm themselves, they will be killed by the scum of the society.
The US constitution guarantees its citizens this right so why not use it?
There are plenty of places in this world where government shave made HARDER for law abiding citizens to buy/carry guns which has resulted in high crime rate in that area, high murder rates, drugs are easier to get and whole lot of other problems.
I mean, licensing process should be able to determine WHO gets a gun and who does not.

People with intention to kill will still be able to get guns and they wouldn't even need license for that.

i beg to differ JL…statistically crime rates are low in countries that have stricter gun control laws.
