just read this on GeoTV. shoaib and asif are not going due to injuries. replacing them is sami and yasir arafat

Actually this makes the situation a WIN-WIN one for Pakistan.
Agar Haara ....Oh, we were not playing a full-strength side.
Agar Jeeta .....We won inspite of playing a half-strength side.

Pakistan has nothing to lose now. Lack of expectation is a good thing and relieves pressure from the Team which may augur well for Pakistan. I suspect this was also the reason for England winning the recently concluded ODI tri-series.

Ofcourse it is, but let’s be realistic. India and Sri Lanka are much stronger now and I think Pakistan are out of the semi final race.

That should be a rap on Shoaib's career. I do not know what to make of it except some great delieveries, performances....he did whatever he could to put on a show on and off the field. I think Pakistan should look for new blood and replace Akhtar.

Mohammad Asif has a long road ahead and he desparatly needs to get rid of this "dope stain".

Sami has been performing well since the Oval Test, he will do great.

Excuses are predictable, but looking at it from tournament perspective, the problem Pakistan will have is to beat teams like Australia and South Africa. They will struggle against New Zeland, Sri lanka and England.

If you add subtract these things, the only reason we would not be able to go deep into this tournament is lack of momentum. This is where Inzamam comes into the picture, if he can lead from front and give one of his best performances, which still in this age he can, our players will follow his lead.

I don’t think Asif is from the same league. Just look how Shane Warne made it back, Asif is still in his early twenties. He can and surely will overcome it.
