Well based on these findings I don't think you can punish anybody whos found postive of Nandrolone becaue there will always be doubt about its source.

Akhtar was offered by the previous committee to take the Sample B test which would clear any doubts about the source. He declined.

Bottom line is this, PCB made a mistake in first informing their players about banned substances and than carrying out the tests in wrong way, players appeal than comittee found them not guilty. Justice is done.

^ I mean how it got into their system?.There are 3 possibilities:A.supplemets were contaminated B.It was produced naturally through their diet and supplements(not contaminated),far fetched C.They took it.
They have no evidence that A or B happened.They are assuming that it might have based on the history of these supplements.Hell they don't even know whether they were taking these supplements...they are taking their word for it.

Having said that, I strongly feel that this whole episode unveils the unprofessional working ethics of the PCB. You can NOT expect the players to conform to the rules that were never explained to them to begin with. Just offering a class on how to take a urine sample doesn't cut it. They should at least fire a couple of big guys inside the PCB who were responsible.

This is how one judge things.
What extra performance enhacement you witnessed in Shoaib and Asif recently? If you suspect how do you? If you look at Barry Bonds and how his home runs eclipsed, you can suspect, but with Shoaib and Asif it is surprise. Why would he take susbstace to improve his speed when he already is fast? Why would Asif need such thing? It is fact and reality, when you take banned substance, your body changes dramatically, also it helps players recover very fast.

^It might have helped them heal their injuries,both of them were coming back from injuries.Anabolic steroids can you help you recover from injuries very quickly.It can also help prevent cramps or muscle strains which a lot of fast bowlers suffer from..thats enhancing performance.Shane Warne allegedly took it to recover from a shoulder injury and then took a diuretic as a masking agent.I am not saying these guys are guilty,there is enough doubt in the case to let them go free although the judge does'nt say that in his findings.

Shane Warne was proven guilty and Shoaib and Asif are not. There is a difference, you can suspect them to take these substance because they wanted to recover but Shoaib has missed so many series due to injuries, why would he think of doing it now?
Shoaib and Asif will take these banned substances why? The reason Intikhab alam went to his private life is just to demonise him and his character making everyone belief to his point of view, but proven wise they can not show that Shoaib took banned substances.
You can take over the counter supplements and improve your health and heal quickly but for rapid recovery and enhancement of performance, players take these substances.
I always believed that they are not guilty because I just can not find a reason (other than Shoaib’s shady lifestyle) that they want and need to take these susbstances. Morever, the lifestyle does not cut the ice, most people do such things including players but stay clean.

^Intikhab Alam is a moron.I did'nt agree with anything he said about shoaib.But Shoaib did have a reason to take it and he is not the sort of a person who always act with responsibility.This substance does'nt stay in your system forever,according to a doctor in the pcb there was a chance that by the time they were tested by the icc in icc trophy it would have been out of their system,they probably did'nt know that p.c.b was going to test them long before that or thought that it would be out of their system by then.

Lets hope ICC or WADA don't interfere (they should not since it is not their matter, PCB did test and put a ban and now lifted, so its not something these orgs can take action on).

wow..what a reversal of fortunes for Shoaib. Most ppl had already started typing obituries about his career. Good for him I guess but I am afraid I dont agree with the verdict. Instead of a complete acquittal a minimum of ten or so ODI or 5 Test match bans would've made more sense to me.
