why should PM interfere? let PCB decide about this jokester. he is a national disgrace. as for accountibility, who do u want to understake the task of this so-called accountibility? the whole government is corrupt and corruption breeds corruption. if officials at the PCB are corrupt then obviously they were put in place by corrupt government officials. so to ask them for accountibility is like asking a murderer to be the judge in a murder trial. i personally am happy that this scum-bag is banned for 5 years and am hoping that the ban will stay. but then in pak everything is possible except for the right thing to happen.
I think you misunderstood me. What I meant was Gillani should end this farce aka adhocism soon. As for Shoaib (though he is no angel himself), the punishment does seem a bit harsh. Ideally the board members should rule on that but seeing this thing is now getting personal b/w Naseem and Shoaib a neutral person perhaps should look into the whole mess.

You cannot blame Nasim Ashraf for making this personal. It was Shoaib Akhtar who on national television got personal about Nasim Ashraf. Why did Akhtar have to do such a low thing? Akhtar should have just filed an appeal and fight his case in court and prove PCB wrong there.
Now that he has said such things on TV about the PCB chairman, Nasim Ashraf has every right to sue him for those comments. Trust me, had Naseem Ashraf come on national television and made personal comments about Akhtar's drinking/clubbing/fighting habits...Akhtar would have done the same.
Both parties need to keep each other's private life out of this and main thing...politicians needs to keep out of this mess...don't they have other major problems like water shortage, loadshedding, flour prices, wheat prices to worry about?

Naseem Ashraf may get fired. Shoaib's ban may get lifted. But the dude will still be in deep hot waters for all the crap he is vomitting these days. I mean, yes, he is desperate, but he should use more than the 2 brain cells that he has, before opening his mouth. His best course of action is to just shut the f up, and let some professional deal with the PR mess he has gotten into. What a moron!

Here's another twist: if a player is approached for match fixing and does not declar the approach to the captain, ICC, or the officials, then ICC can ban the player for 1-5 years. Considering that Shoaib didn't disclose this until now, he may get a ban from ICC as well. Even if the PCB ban is overturned, Shoaib might still find himself unable to play.

Shoaib should have been banned when he hit Asif and then accused Afridi. Atleast for a full year to get his head straight. Whoever was responsible for not punishing him should resign. Naseem must go. He is incompetent, although he backed the right decision this time.
