AP uncle, whats the point for defending chors/ looters. Just earlier chor/looters were not held accountable does not justify defending the current lot. If you really think that action taken by SC are just biased and baseless, then there is a point for defending. We should stop playing victim cards.. Let these thugs get punishment for what they did, that would definitely be lesson for future governments to come.

This action is not being taken because of corruption.

The only 'lesson' is the Army still controls the country.

well if you have such short memory, then you should know that SC have given its verdict against Nov - 3 actions of a dictator, but then political leadership didn't have balls to file a case against the main culprit!!! wonder why???

So what was NRO all about, if its not immunity from previous acts of corruption and certificiate to go forth for further corruption. Can anyone explain why they call NRO kala qanoon?

A majority of the NRO beneficiaries have been bureaucrats and government officials as a list, released by the government on Saturday, contained names of only 34 politicians out of a total of 8,000.
According to the list, almost 97 per cent of the beneficiaries are from Sindh. The ordinance will lapse on Nov 28 in the light of the Supreme Court’s July 31 verdict in the PCO judges case.
The list shows that a total of 8,041 people — 7,793 from Sindh — have benefited from the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO), promulgated by former president Pervez Musharraf on Oct 5, 2007.
These people have got withdrawn 3,478 cases (3,320 in Sindh) registered against them on charges of corruption, financial bungling, misuse of authority and criminal charges.

According to the list, Asif Ali Zardari remained the beneficiary No 1 of the NRO as at least eight of his NAB cases of corruption and misuse of authorities were dropped. These cases included the alleged kickbacks from SGS PSI Company, grant of licence to ARY Gold causing huge loss to government, corruption in purchase of Ursus tractors under the Awami Tractor Scheme, illegal award of contract to Cotecna for pre-shipment, assets beyond means, received kickbacks from Sajjad Ahmad (late) ex-chairman Pakistan Steel Mills, illegal construction of Polo ground at PM House and the money laundering SGS Swiss case.

I don't know if it is just me, but from last 2 weeks it is Aitzaz Ahsan or Makhdoom Ameen Fahim who are doing most of the damage control thing for PPP...
