Pakistan has been stripped of hosting rights for the 2011 World Cup because of the “uncertain security situation” in the country, the ICC said, according to Reuters.
“It is a regrettable decision (but) our number one priority is to create certainty and…deliver a safe, secure and successful event,” ICC president David Morgan said in a statement.
Pakistan were due to co-host the event with India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

It was reported that the officials of Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) did not supported the Pakistan’s efforts against shifting the matches from its land in ICC meeting.

Looking at the concerted effort made by our dear neighbours to potray Pakistan as an extremely dangerous place, this was very much expected.
(at least try this last hope in a NO-hope, may be it will work) ... like Australia and others have walkedout from Champions cup! ... at least show something respectable that you got Asia!
Granted, there has been terrorist activity in Pakistan. But then how are the other 3 countries any safer? SriLanka? Bombings are going on there for decades now, it doesn't even makes headlines now. Bangladesh? Remember Bangladesh rifles not no long back. At least, our armed forces are loyal to the country. India? Don't even get me started. I have lost count of the different terrorist groups there. Then why single us out? Why???
Trust me, this w. cup might not held in Asia without Pakistan! … non-Asians are trying hard to break this powerful Asian block, and if they are succeeded then BD, SL and india are also not the safest just heaven on earth just for the sake of argument and declaration you know and venue can easily be shifted to e.g. UAE (hint: IPL) …

IPL was moved because Indian Govt flatly refused high security for teams due to elections (and for no other reason). Even if boards had asked players to be careful while traveling to India, we were already hearing the statements from players like “oh not going to India will be a win-win for Terrorists” while same players change their opinion about terrorists and their win when it comes to Pakistan. Not that these players “love” India, its simple business. We should understand and accept this.
If PCB announce a 20/20 for 20 million, You will see full strength NZ and Auz team ready to play even in Sawat, FATA and God knows where!
