How sad for Pakistan that she needs the likes of Benazir Bhutto to come back and save her... Its like a drug addict having to go back to relying on the crack pipe...

Second round of Musharraf-Benazir meeting underway in Abu Dhahbi

ABU DHAHBI: The second round of meeting between President General Pervez Musharraf and former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto is underway here, the reliable sources said.
The first round of the meeting lasted for about lasted for 55 minutes and it was a short a meeting.
The ISI chief, some personalities of Arab countries and western diplomats also attended the meeting, the other sources said.
Although the details of the meeting were not issued, however, the reports said that Musharraf and Benazir discussed important issues including current political situation in Pakistan.
“ If Musharraf-Benazir meeting has been held it could be the final round of PPP-government talks and it is hoped that this meeting will have long-term positive impact on the politics of Pakistan, said Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed while commenting on the meeting.
Meanwhile, the reports said that Musharraf will also hold meeting with former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Shahabaz Sharif in Saudi Arabia during the second leg of Musharraf’s visit.
However, the PML (N) sources have rejected the reports of Musharraf-Nawaz meeting.

lol Fraudz, people have been trashing politicians for ages. You’ve been looking at BB’s side of the table with some disgust for awhile now, so tell me are Mushys countless deals (with the Sharifs, with Bush, with the MMA and attempting with BB) being done out of principle or out of opportunism
With regard to ZAB technically correct: yes he did meet Zia after he was toppled and he told him the punishment for a coup was death. The rest as they say for both of them is history.

There are reports that he met BB in Dubai today. Reports not confirmed but looks like it did happen today.

difference of semantics mon ami.
the deals are being made out of opportunism, and have been made out of opportunism.
whether out of power 'leaders' meet with US congressmen or british MPs or Musharraf meets with Banazir, or Benazir meets with musharraf or Imran meets with Nawaz.
oh and wait for all of the above tryign to cut deals with MQm soon too. regardless of their big declarations in London.
so that is what I think of politics.

Apparently talks have broken down on the issue of the uniform... But that I think was expected...
Still, Benazir seems to have left herself on shaky grounds, since without a deal with Musharaf, she really has no one else to help her return to power or even give her party a strong footing..
She has pretty much burned all her bridges.

i dont think PPP is as helpless as you think it is.
If elections were held today in Pakistan a PPP/MQM combo will win.
now with ifti in chair at SC, elections will happen, and BB and nawaz can not be kept out, one way or the other they will return.
as of now Musharraf needs BB more than she needs him. that was evident the moment Ifti's case was tossed out by SC.
