Also, I always thought there were two basic fallacies in Imran Khan's assertion that terrorists will never risk losing people's goodwill by targeting cricketers.
(1) Was Imran Khan saying that terrorists enjoyed the goodwill of average Pakistanis ? (2) Did the terrorists - by attacking Marriot Hotel or killing Benazir Bhutto or by orchestrating several attacks that killed or maimed civilians - enhance their goodwill among average Pakistanis ?
To make a statement like Imran did is not only callous but also gives too much credit to the terrorists who are nothing but stupid brainless butchers.
I agree with those fallacies too. If anything, targeting cricketers give the terrorrists instant headlines that they crave for. If their intent is to cause carnage, mayhem, chaos, and damage to Pakistan, then cricket is the easiest and most high-profile target.
