The guy got what he deserved. All despots should suffer the same fate, they treat their countries as if they own them and treat their own people with contempt.
Former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein has been convicted of crimes against humanity by a Baghdad court and sentenced to death by hanging.
He was found guilty over his role in the killing of 148 people in the mainly Shia town of Dujail in 1982. His co-defendant former judge Awad Hamed al-Bander was also sentenced to death. Former vice-president Taha Yassin Ramadan got life in jail. Three others received 15 year prison terms, another official was acquitted.
Re: Breaking News: Death penalty for Saddam Hussein
I have lot to say on his trial but since he was behind several murders and was an indiscriminate ruler who ordered elimination of people probably deserves such an end. Rest of it, Allah knows the best.

^
bush can use all the drama he can get these days.i’m sure this guilty verdict will def boost his ratings. otherwise who doesn’t know from where saddam got all his weapons and blessings to do whatever he did in the 70s, 80s etc.i guess a similar kind of liberation & freedom is needed in pakistan.
Re: Breaking News: Death penalty for Saddam Hussein
If he is given death sentnce on the charge of killing 148 people, what about President Bush, who is responsible for killing of hundreds of thousands of innocent people.
Re: Breaking News: Death penalty for Saddam Hussein
Let that be a lesson to all those leaders willing to sell their own nation out to the USA.. this is what happens if you befriend the USA and betray your own people.
Re: Breaking News: Death penalty for Saddam Hussein
Saddam deserved death for what he did, but not a pathetic show trial like this. His lawyers killed, a judge leaving citing government interference, a judge fired for allegedly being sympathetic to him.....
The delivery of justice to a monster has been twisted so badly it risks turning him into a legend and a hero to one of Iraq's major communities.
There should have been no trial for Saddam until peace and justice was first restored to Iraq.
Saddam has been treated no different to a fallen Baghdad caliph from an early time of arab folklore. Cast by the military of his foes out of his palace into the streets, turned into a fugutive, his sons hunted down and killed, seized in rags, hauled before a show trial whilst civil war reigned in the streets of Baghdad and the country all around, and executed. This is a story that could have come from the Arabian Nights, rather than an example of 21st Century regime change.
Re: Breaking News: Death penalty for Saddam Hussein
There is no justification for Saddam’s actions, but why these western leaders want to ‘liberate’ certain Muslim countries by destroying more homes and lives is beyond my comprehension?
Are more mass murdering and war really the only answer to help these ppl?
Now people will be congratulating the American goverment for the death of Saddam!!
Well done President Bush for killing and destroying more lives. You are no better, and YOU should be on trial for the illigitimate war crimes that are being commited in the world, because all those people that are dead in these countries because of the bombs that you have initiated, their blood is on your hands.
Re: Breaking News: Death penalty for Saddam Hussein
Allah reham kerne wala hai
He is not dead yet. An automatic appeal will be filed and then obviously that appeal will be rejected. After that he will be hanged within 30 days. God knows what can happen during that time.
Re: Breaking News: Death penalty for Saddam Hussein
I did read in western media that when Saddam found someone from his Cabinet Guilty of "Incompetance", Saddam would take out his gun and shoot him in front of all the Cabinet right there in the Cabinet Meeting.
**If that is true, then they should get it over with, or better yet Saddam can abdicate to Iran....:) **
