Re: Breaking News: Akhtar, Asif called back to Pakistan!
i just heard a doctor talk about this on t.v..he was saying that this thing can stay in your system for weeks,so if these guys took it in septemeber chances were that it would still be in their system when icc was going to conduct its test ...so obviously pcb did not want to take any chance with that and made the right move
Re: Breaking News: Akhtar, Asif called back to Pakistan!
Thanks :D
nikema
I VERY MUCH DOUBT THAT EITHER PLAYER TOOK THOSE SUBSTANCES TO ENHANSE THEIR PERFORMANCE COZ THEY HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH INJURIES LATELY SO IT MAY BE THE CASE THAT THESE PLAYERS GOT THESE SUBSTANCES FROM THE INJUCTIONS THEY WERE TAKING FOR THEIR INJURIES AND DIDNT TAKE THOSE SUBSTANCES

Re: Breaking News: Akhtar, Asif called back to Pakistan!
Shane Warne was banned for a year when he tested positive in 2003. The PCB should also not impose more than a year ban if the players are found guilty. Everyone should be treated with the same yardstick.
Re: Breaking News: Akhtar, Asif called back to Pakistan!
i think they should just put all the blame on the doctor who gave them this steroid and spare them punishment, and let icc do what it wants to ..thats the only way we can save pakistan cricket...otherwise pakistan cricket team is finished.
Re: Breaking News: Akhtar, Asif called back to Pakistan!
Speed also revealed that the WADA code provided players the defence option. "Under the WADA code, there are options for the player to prove no significant fault and no performance enhancing effect of the substance. There are some defences available there, under the WADA code."
But would the ICC accept the PCB's verdict on Shoaib Akhtar, even if they feel it was too light? "I don't want to speculate about matters in the future," Speed continued. "There's nothing in the ICC's anti-doping policy that states that we can come in there [if Pakistan deliver the judgement and the ICC are not happy] but probably WADA can come in if they aren't happy. Again that's only if the PCB have signed the WADA agreement. During the Shane Warne incident, WADA made comments about his one-day ban. They might have had the right to appeal but they chose not to."
^well this statement by speed indicates that i.c.c will probably not intervene in this matter and will let p.c.b be the sole judge of this.wada has no agreement with pcb ..so i think its upto pcb now to save its own a.
Re: Breaking News: Akhtar, Asif called back to Pakistan!
^ that is so much more comforting , I just hope that Nasim Ashraf proves his selection right by doing a correct and thorough investigation...
I will be delighted like others to find out that they are found not guilty and PCB implements some stringent check and balance policy (such as a more frequent dope test) to pacify those concerned of fowl play.
Re: Breaking News: Akhtar, Asif called back to Pakistan!
It was real nice that we have back up bowlers, and it was quick, Shoib's life in Cricket seems not more than a couple of years as he is gaining too much weight and is more into media than picth these days, getting more money of course! Asif, is big loss! Rana, we might get similar like him, or else try Azhar Mahmood! If he is alive for circ...
but to me it losks like a political game, PCB or even English-CB will never do that just before a day, so something is real fishy here! no one can be so fair at this stage! ...
I would say move on, and search for others, we have great potential in Pak soil! ... if we can live without Imran, 2W and more, so we can survive once more this time! Trust in batter this time ...
The pitches in india, are not at the international standards, they are more for spin bowlers, so try 2 or 3 spin bwlers, like BD did in thier last match!
