Breaking News ... Afghanistan under attack....!

Stu boy what US is doing now is just a show of force with no results at all. Let me explain.. Afghanistan has no infastructure or targets to hit thanks to 20 years of war. US has to hit ruins or boulders after all they need to show some action to the ppl of America its a natural reaction. Now do you think you will solve the problem if innocent are killed. You bet there will be retaliation of one kind or another. You bombed Afghans a few years back and you know what happened. Just heard on CBC your friend Bin Laden has promised retaliations and promised if you live in US you are not safe.

I can’t imagine one of these guys getting hold of a nuke (even a crude one) or anthrax.

You never learned from Vietnam, Korea, Bay of Pigs..etc and now Iran is knocking on the door of nuclear club.

P.S. I hope you are not one of those Indians in American cloths

.

See yah Fat boy

assalaamu alaikum,
I am glad to see that most of us have the correct sensations and feelings towards our brethren where ever they are and where ever we are.
He (saw) said that "we (muslims are one Ummah to the exclusion of all others."
Also Allah(swt)said in 8:72 "the disbelievers are friends, protectors to one another and if you do not do so then their will be fitna and great evil"
It is clear that we are one body and the kuffar are conspiring with their agents with muslim names against us.
Here are some interesting quotes:
US Brig General William Looney said in Washington Post:
"if they turn on the radars we're going to blow up their god damn sams . They know we own their country. We own their airspace.. we dictate the way they live and talk. And thats whats great about America right now. Its a good thing especially when theirs a lot of oil out their."

Concerning the use of poison gas by British on Iraq after WW2."I am strongly in favour of using poisoned gas against uncivilisesd tribes. The moral effect would be good...and it would spread a lively terror"

George Bush said
"I will never apologize for the united states of America, I dont care what the facts are."

Now facts from those kaafir who do say the facts:
Robert Fisk (independent)
"This is not a war on terror. It is a fight against Americas enemies."

Simon Jenkins (Times)
"The crime was never "an assault on democracy". If western democracy can not withstand a suicide bomb attack on an office block, it is pathetic indeed. The crime was directed not against democracy but against western policies in the Middle East".

Ramsey Clark (former US Attorney General)
"The greatest crime since world war 2 has been US foreign policy."

Ralph McGehee (former CIA analyst
"Death squads have been created and used by the CIA around the world/particularly the third world / since the late 1940's, a fact ignored by the elite-owned media."

Amnesty International
"The USA has suppield arms, security equipment and training to governments and armed groups hthat have committed torture, political killings and other human rights abuses around the world."

John Pilger (The Irish Times)
Far from being terrorists of the world the Islamis peoples have been its victims - that is, victims of American fundamentalism, whose power, in all its forms, military, strategic and economic, is the greatest source of terrorism on earth."

Depends on what one's definition of strength is. If it is based on the above quoted principles, then in the eye of that person today's proceedings will be considered show of strength. As for others, they are waiting for time to prove the true essence of strength.

Why does practically every Pakistani wish he/she could emigrate to the US?
Why shouldn't anyone who wants to? The last I checked US was settled by people of all races, creeds, colors and religions. If you think America was founded by one particular race (as is the case in many other nations of the world) or that there is anything as purely "American," then you are gravely mistaken. The only authentic 'Americans' anyone will ever find, will be those of native American descend.

There is a major if. It has yet to be decided who is being chased. Bin Ladin? Talebans? Or the reasons of commercial interest?

*It will be interesting to see just how "unbeatable" the mujahadeed really are when faced with US special forces. *
Depends on which category of "Mujahideens" are being referred to here. There are two categories: One who is sitting at home, inflicted with disease and starvation, and another who is in the battle ground being
stripped-off their right to practice their religion in their own homeland.

Two civilians hospitals in Kabul have been reported hit. This is the former kind of "Mujahideens" (the sick and starving). And if them getting bombed makes you feel "strong" and "unbeatable," then this world has lost virtue.

There is a fine line between feeling right and being right.

The Americans are making all these noises about a coalition of countries supporting them. In fact these military strikes only involve the US with the British tagging along after them. Thats all. Three other western countries have committed forces for this fight, but are not taking part at the moment. Wonder why?

It doesn't matter that Sudan, Somalia, Ethopia, etc... are not in the boat. What matters is that the "Great Imperialist" and the Queen are together in this and are facilitated by the "Super Macho/Smart/Brave" Dictator of Pakistan.

Might I remind you that one is country of your residence (to which you probably swore allegience) and the other is the country of your origin. What else do you want.

The full transcript of President Bush address to the American people.

*On my orders, the United States military has begun strikes against Al Qaeda terrorist training camps and military installations of the Taliban regime in Afghanistan.

"These carefully targeted actions are designed to disrupt the use of Afghanistan as a terrorist base of operations and to attack the military capability of the Taliban regime.

"We are joined in this operation by our staunch friend, Great Britain. Other close friends, including Canada, Australia, Germany and France, have pledged forces as the operation unfolds.

"More than 40 countries in the Middle East, Africa, Europe and across Asia have granted air transit or landing rights. Many more have shared intelligence. We are supported by the collective will of the world.

"More than two weeks ago, I gave Taliban leaders a series of clear and specific demands: Close terrorist training camps. Hand over leaders of the Al Qaeda network. And return all foreign nationals, including American citizens, unjustly detained in their country.

"None of these demands was met. And now, the Taliban will pay a price.

"By destroying camps and disrupting communications, we will make it more difficult for the terror network to train new recruits and coordinate their evil plans.

"Initially the terrorists may burrow deeper into caves and other entrenched hiding places. Our military action is also designed to clear the way for sustained, comprehensive and relentless operations to drive them out and bring them to justice.

"At the same time, the oppressed people of Afghanistan will know the generosity of America and our allies. As we strike military targets, we will also drop food, medicine and supplies to the starving and suffering men and women and children of Afghanistan.

"The United States of America is a friend to the Afghan people, and we are the friends of almost a billion worldwide who practice the Islamic faith.

"The United States of America is an enemy of those who aid terrorists and of the barbaric criminals who profane a great religion by committing murder in its name.

"This military action is a part of our campaign against terrorism, another front in a war that has already been joined through diplomacy, intelligence, the freezing of financial assets and the arrests of known terrorists by law-enforcement agents in 38 countries.

"Given the nature and reach of our enemies, we will win this conflict by the patient accumulation of successes, by meeting a series of challenges with determination and will and purpose.

"Today we focus on Afghanistan, but the battle is broader. Every nation has a choice to make. In this conflict, there is no neutral ground. If any government sponsors the outlaws and killers of innocence, they have become outlaws and murderers themselves. And they will take that lonely path at their own peril.

"I’m speaking to you today from the Treaty Room of the White House, a place where American presidents have worked for peace.

"We’re a peaceful nation. Yet, as we have learned, so suddenly and so tragically, there can be no peace in a world of sudden terror. In the face of today’s new threat, the only way to pursue peace is to pursue those who threaten it.

"We did not ask for this mission, but we will fulfill it.

"The name of today’s military operation is Enduring Freedom. We defend not only our precious freedoms, but also the freedom of people everywhere to live and raise their children free from fear.

"I know many Americans feel fear today. And our government is taking strong precautions. All law enforcement and intelligence agencies are working aggressively around America, around the world and around the clock.

"At my request, many governors have activated the National Guard to strengthen airport security. We have called up reserves to reinforce our military capability and strengthen the protection of our homeland.

"In the months ahead, our patience will be one of our strengths – patience with the long waits that will result from tighter security, patience and understanding that it will take time to achieve our goals, patience in all the sacrifices that may come.

"Today, those sacrifices are being made by members of our armed forces who now defend us so far from home, and by their proud and worried families.

"A commander-in-chief sends America’s sons and daughters into battle in a foreign land only after the greatest care and a lot of prayer.

"We ask a lot of those who wear our uniform. We ask them to leave their loved ones, to travel great distances, to risk injury, even to be prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice of their lives.

"They are dedicated. They are honorable. They represent the best of our country, and we are grateful.

"To all the men and women in our military – every sailor, every soldier, every airman, every Coast Guardsman, every Marine – I say this: Your mission is defined. The objectives are clear. Your goal is just. You have my full confidence, and you will have every tool you need to carry out your duty.

"I recently received a touching letter that says a lot about the state of America in these difficult times, a letter from a fourth-grade girl with a father in the military.

"‘As much as I don’t want my dad to fight,’ she wrote, ‘I’m willing to give him to you.’

"This is a precious gift. The greatest she could give. This young girl knows what America is all about.

"Since September 11, an entire generation of young Americans has gained new understanding of the value of freedom and its cost and duty and its sacrifice.

"The battle is now joined on many fronts. We will not waiver, we will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail. Peace and freedom will prevail.

“Thank you. May God continue to bless America.”*

Taliban definitely knows where he is. However Bush should have mentioned in passing about OBL.

Yes it is interesting that in that whole diatribe of a speech he did not mention once their main target, Osama Bin Laden. Does it mean they are not sure of capturing him?

Anyway only one country is taking part in air strikes alongside the US, and that is their Great Britain. No surprise there. Only a few others have pledged troops if needed. Not much of an international coalition is it?

It has just started, far from over. They are gonna get all of their targets, weapons, etc, then ground troops will come in and identify ObL remainings or hunt him down along with his lil group. Thats when the other countries will step in and control all surrounding areas with their troops to keep them in. The US and Great Britian are taking 1st shots, then the rest will step in if needed and to lock borders to keep em in, if still alive.

If I would be America, I would go for the Taleban rather going for OBL itself. You know the story about Sadam and I think this will apply on OBL as well.
Since they don’t have Oil reserves they might be focusing on something else. I just can’t figure it out. But there is something there are heading for.

Read this. It’s quite interesting. I think it can become a treat to Pak.
